Forums - Sales - PS3 Already Ahead of 360?

The bulk of God of War's selling power was focused in NA, thus making that region's total weekly software sales stand out, yes, but the majority of multiplatform titles were selling better on 360 in NA (save a few like FF), while they were not worldwide.

My main metric in all of this has been the sales of multiplatform titles.

Also what this article doesn't mention is that playing AND PAYING for it userbase is smaller than suggested here.

With few milions of moded consoles (considering some games can get a milion or so downloads from torrents) then number of active paying customers is probably similar beetween PS3 and X360.

Are you going to attempt to counter any of my claims, or are you just going to act astonished that I made them?

I don't see the point of responses like yours.

I dont see any point in trying to counter anything with you regarding this... no point at all.

The points have already been countered and dealt with ad-nauseum in the thread.

Which implies you didn't actually read any of my posts.

Unlike the OP, I was merely claiming that the ps3 has a larger install base that is relevant to publishers considering a majority of multiplatform titles now sell better on ps3.  There has yet to be any proof that this statement is incorrect.

I understand the attacks made against the OP, and as I said in my first post, his reasonings are asinine.   I had assumed you read that, but it seems you never made it past the comma in my first sentence.  Oh how troublesome those pesky punctuation marks can be.

I don't know if the OP's reasoning is sound(it's pretty much pulled from his ass) but the PS3 has been killing the 360 in software sold so far this year. It's not even close if you add them all up. Even taking away all of GOWIII's sales I believe the PS3 would still be ahead of the 360's software sales.

LOL. Some fanboys will try hard. Maybe someone should point the OP guy to attach rates? Or the psrt where M$ confirm 360 sales dont include replacements.

I'd like to know why some of you think that the numbers in the article are totally off? If the total failure rate of all 360s combined is currently 42%, and if the Jasper revision which was has been sold for about 1 1/2 years only has a failure rate of, lets say, 7%, then the failure rates of Xenon, Zephyr and Opus have to be much higher than 42% to account for the high total.

"Well certainly with the Xbox 360, we had some challenges at the launch. Once we identified that we took control of it. We wanted to do it right by our customers. Our customers are very important to us." -Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb (10/2013). Note: RRoD was fixed with the Jasper-revision 3 years after the launch of 360

"People don't pay attention to a lot of the details."-Yusuf Mehdi explaining why Xbone DRM scheme would succeed

"Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it's called Xbox 360,”-Don Mattrick

"The region locking of the 3DS wasn't done for profits on games"-MDMAlliance

I think a bigger question than those replaced X360s might be if banned consoles are a part of those numbers... cause they count as sold, and some ppl keep banned systems to play downloaded offline games and use a new system to play online, so....

i dont know if anyone pointed this out cause i seriously dont have the time right now to read ALL of that, i read like half, enough to know some XBOX "adepts" will be hatin' on me for making this question

Some things to consider:

1.Phat ps3's being used for things other than gaming (servers, etc)
2.PS3's being bought primarily as Blu-ray players and not being used for gaming.

The PS3 and the X360 may well be much closer than figures say (although they already are damn close) but i dare say x360 has many more users using there systems purely for gaming (really the only thing you buy a x360 for)

does it really matter if PS3 overtakes XBox360 its not a victory their both well behind the Wii,
