Forums - Sony - Are you impressed? Best looking shooter Ive seen yet

Looks gritty and nasty, just like war does.
Aside from the original Call of Duty and possibly Haze, it seems to have one of the most "realistic" wartorn rendered worlds.
But like RocketPig mentioned earlier; art direction and visuals was never an issue with the prequel either, but the rest was! Guerilla have yet to prove themselves to hardcore FPS fans!

Rath has a point as well, Lair looked massively fun, and even garnered support in early previews gameplay wise back when reviewers believed the controls would be touched up after beta... Gameplay elements that are brilliant in and on themselves can get offset if the way you act them out is poor.

I don't know. I think that teenage boys will always be significant and vocal segment of the gaming market which will mean that while Haloesque games may not become significantly more popular I don't see why they should become less.

Of course the gaming market will expand into casual territory which is why things like the Wii and the DS are becoming popular now.

Oh, I don't think the "Halo" market will shrink by any means, just that it probably won't see significant growth any time soon.

To me CoD4 = Killzone 2 graphics.

People thought that Microsoft was crazy to get RARE studios but it may just be the studio that saves their ass by attracting not just the casuals but also "Nintendo" fans. Games like Banjo, Conker, Perfect Dark, and etc. still resonate with alot of Nintendo fans.

Wait are you even in the right topic?

In anycase I will reply, MS payed a shiteload of cash for Rare and hasn't got their moneys worth. Most of their games for MS have been good but not great.

Lol no.

CoD4 isn't even the best looking PS3 game right now.

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Quite frankly I'm not impressed with your comment.

I'd say it's a close call between COD4 and Uncharted as far as visuals go.

GT did say in their Uncharted review: "It's the best looking game on any console".

Why can't people just admit it looks pretty good?

Its also short as hell what was it 8 hours?

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Proud supporter of all 3 console companys

Proud owner of 360wii and DS/psp

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
