Looking over the pre-order charts, I was truly impressed to see that GT5 game sits at the number 6 spot at 65,000 orders, slightly behind Red Dead Redemption (PS3), which is at 70,000. Considering the fact that this game has no release date (in fact, we aren't even entirely sure that it will release this year), this is most impressive. I say that 5 weeks prior to its release the game will have an unbelievable amount of pre-orders and that it will be the true system seller that the PS3 has been looking for. If there is any game that can truly rival Halo: Reach, it's this game. Although its first week might not be as grand as Reach's first week, the game's strong legs (typical of previous GT games) will ensure that this game will sell tons and tons of copies. My first week estimate is in the range of 2.2-2.6 million and LTD sales to approach 12 million. GT5 will kick some serious ass! :D

but hasn't it been getting preorders for the last 5 years or something? or am I wrong.? haha

I think we have members here who put in thier preorders in 2007. I put mine in last November.

GT is a massive franchise!

Heck GT5 Prologue sales are proof alone of how massive it is.

Especially when people talk about American sales. They think its dead in the US for some reason.

The fact that GT5P, a demo, has sold nearly 3.7 million units is also nothing short of spectacular! Granted it was bundled quite a lot, but it still doesn't change the fact that this is one kick-ass franchise. Plus, I think that if Sony bundles this game like crazy, we could see sales sky-rocket beyond our wildest dreams! I'm not sure what it is about this franchise or why so many people like it so much (games like Forza still offer a great racing experience), but this game has something really special.

Also, GT5:P has actually sold around 4.8m, or somewhere around there, according to Polyphony Digital, since there's the PSN download lol, which means over 1m people downloaded it...

I think GT5 is going to have amazing sales...

People who think Halo is the biggest franchise and seller ever always laugh when I tell them Gran Turismo is a bigger franchise
