I LOVE ICELAND!

Yeah, considering the Wii wasn't even meant to outsell the GC
Haha, I can see why you do it - tis fun
Alas - KungKras - I think Pachter usually makes USA predictions so his arent included (and due to his wild predicting it would've messed up my trendlines anyway :P)
Out of 8 or so analyst reports, only 1 ( IDG) expects the 360 to sell more than the PS3 in 2010 according to the wiki link and we have several well known names like iSuppli, IDC, IDG, screen digest, PiperJaffray, etc.
2010 Looks like the year of the PS3, I just wish that this finally came sooner as Sony promised that it would
I'm taking this too seriously. Your method is fuuuuuuuuu-
I'm more in support of taking the inverse of what all the analysts said and identifying outliers by distribution rather than fishiness.

but is it the analysts themselves that are the morons, or is it the inherent failure of predicting the future?
I dont think that these financial analysts making 200K deserve to be laughed at by slackers but that just my opinion.
also, why did you remove high ps3 and 360 points along with low wii points?
Did you do a distribution to find outliers?

I didn't find the variance and then see which were more than whatever number of standard deviations away, no. And come to think of it, the 20 month data point could probably also be considered an outlier because it really messes up the PS3 and 360 lines
| kowenicki said: I like it... But I think of you just work on the rule of thumb of... Wii 50% (+/- 3%) 360 25% (+/- 3%) PS3 25% (+/- 3%) then you wont be far off ![]() |
Haha, yeah, that could work.
I couldn't decide whether I should be dissapointed or happy that the final numbers that came out of my 'analysis' were rather boring and obvious ones
