if they increase gold prices etc for more features, they better add a silver+ or gold- version that just lets you play online for cheaper because that is really all I want to use my xbox for zzz.

If they add a platinum service and raise the gold amount that would be bs.

Not going to happen. Microsoft knows that they already get some flak from charging for their service which offers most of the features free on PS3, and some, including online gaming, are also free on the Wii. What they've been trying to do is add more value to a gold account to justify its cost to more people. And while they are adding value to the gold account, I also don't see them raising the price on it, giving more leverage to their competitors' free offerings...

Huh, interesting.  I guess if they showed just about every T.V show and movie, and have other features it would probably be worth it.

But that will suck if they charge $500 per consoles a year even if movie, tv shows, internet , apps are free, I have two Xbox, one in the living room and the other upstairs and I already pay $100 for two accounts.

I can't think of paying $1000 a year .

I'd pay $500 a year to have on-demand to every TV show and movie out there.

Good luck with all that licensing though.

I don't think Pacther has any clue about the pricing schedule for a new premium service which is why he threw out so many different numbers. But his point was more about where MS is headed - and that is something he does know about, it's his job to know what direction a company is headed.

MS has been working a long time to get to a full premium service that can rival cable. Personally I would l love to tell DirecTV to f*off, and with all of the new options coming out I'm almost there. I don't know if MS is close enough yet to be able to offer a comprable package but it does seem like they are getting closer, perhaps when they launch their new console in a couple more years.
