flowjo said: lol alan wake doesnt even look that good , what a joke thread.
the first uncharted still looks better and there still isnt anything on the 360 that even comes close to killzone 2 or mgs4 , the sad part about this is that 360 fanboys ( AND MEDIA ) actually think alan wake is raising the visual bar , reality is we all see the in game graphics , the lighting is nice everything else is very standard nothing blew me away at all . |
Fixed.
Please leave it to another thread.
|
no media has said anything about the graphics so far , except that one site gamersyde (no idea who they are) said it was the best 360 had to offer in no way did they say it beat out ps3 exclusives and i can bet when it comes out not one reputable site will say its a graphics king in anyway, btw im not blind and the in game screens have alot of lag its not even locked at 30fps its dipping much lower
|
LOL. Stop trolling. It's confirmed it's locked at 30FPS. Confirmed no screen tearing in both Gamepsot anf IGN.
I''ll bet you right here and now, that Alan Wake will get best visuals this gen on consoles from those 2 sites.
|
It's also confirmed that it's sub-hd.
|
Oh come on trolls.
It's confirmed native 720p. Remedy confirmed it my friend.
The best always get hated.
|
Where? Xbox.com says it's 720p, but xbox.com also says that Brutal Legend is 1080hp while it's 1200x720 and CoD WaW is rated as 720p (while it's 1024x600).
As far as I know, Xbox360 can't have hdr lighting, 2xAA and 720p in the same game. So I really doubt it will be 720p (unless they decided to drop hdr lighting).

depends on the AA, I believe they are using 4xFSAA which is not as demanding.
|
FSAA stands for Full Screen Anti Aliasing. A form of FSAA is MSAA and that is what Alan Wake is using. LOL. So yeah it's the most demanding in a console game yet. MLAA and QSAA are the least demanding of all. But the flip side is they blurr textures.
|
dood, you don't know what you are talking about, FSAA is not as demanding as MSAA, so stop this right here please.
|
The reason why Remedy have kickedon about the anti aliasing being Full screen is beacuase it's the first console game ever to have Anit liasing on every aspect of the image. From shadows to trees and foliage. Remedy are on record in their own forums saying how they hate that games alias on certain objects etc. And they did everything to make sure they had Full Aliasing. But yeah it is 4xMSAA. Every single 360 game has always used MSAA. It is the most demanding AA in any console game. Thats why when it was reported in news sections, the reports were impressed.
I know what I'm talking about. QSAA and MLAA were designed to be non taxing on the system.
EDIT: Why do you think in previews they always say the anti aliasing is impressive to the point you dont notice any aliasing. |
Let me clearify, they have never said which method they used for FSAA, there are many different forms of AA, by design, 720p 4xFSAA using MSAA on the 360 is okie dokie no not really kinda deal. My guess is that they didn't use anything standard and wrote their own algorithm for it, which is fine. Whatever they did to achieve it, they did, but I doubt it's something as demanding as 4xMSAA.
I'm not even talking about QSAA or MLAA, those are just different methods, I'm no fan of QSAA and I think MLAA has much more potential since it's not restricted to hardware but more so on the coding of software, MSAA is old and crappy by now anyways, SSAA and CFAA is the current stuff, which the HD consoles can't even do properly, ever.
You seem to think everything is about 360 vs PS3 in these topics for some reason which is prolly why you brought up QSAA and MLAA when I never even mentioned them, and I don't know why.
