Not exactly. Sony was going to design a disc-based add-on the SNES called the PlayStation. The plans fell through, but Sony went ahead with their technology, and named it Sony PlayStation.

In this case, however, the PS1 didn't launch with a DualShock controller. That wasn't constructed until 1998 (which in context with this article) was prior to when the claim was made that Nintendo apparently "jacked" an idea of Six degrees of motion.

Good thing they decided to do that! :D

..So Nintendo walked away without paying a dollar? while MS still paid yet could've got off the hook as well?

Regardless, I'm glad yet another money grubbing no-name company that patented something to steal money off game companies didn't get what they wanted. Damn con-artists.
