EDIT: I know SE want to make more money and that this is a part of that effort (just like releasing games is a part of that effort), but until we see what it entails, we have nothing but speculation to go on.

I agree that we should wait and see what they are going to do before we bash it, but after seeing what they did with FFCC My Life as a Dark Lord and FFIV the After Years, I have little confidence that their ideas of episodic content and DLC will be any good for consumers.

not that I support the idea but making the game into episodes doesn't automatically make it a bad game. Siren was released in episodes and it turned out fine. Valve makes Halflife into episodes and it turned out fine too. We'll wait and see how SE is gonna do it. Maybe it will offer a new experience.

Personally I have no faith it would turn out to be anything other than money grab though.

Why not? Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace is coming out soon. Also, it's not a new thing to have people pay for "extra content" that could have been in the game already.

Anyway, I agree. I hate episodic content. Takes forever to get them and they hold a lot less content than entire games = not good for me as a gamer. I've lost count as to how long I've been waiting for Half-Life 2: Episode 3 now...

you guys are looking at it all wrong. Now you can buy Final Fantasy XV 4 times instead of 1. You get 4x the hype, 4x the midnight launches, and 4x the excitement of it all. SE is thinking of you the gamer. They weren't planning on it at all, but it'll happen in the next 3 years




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
