Forums - Nintendo - IGN reviews Monster Hunter Tri

I am much more concerned about the 7/10 the game got from ntscUK and how that score gets into GameRankings.

88 is a very good score -- probably could have been higher but can't argue it.

Before montanahatchet arrives, IGN still sucks

This game looks far better than 8.8 to me.. Not that that's a bad score. But I guarantee if this game was on 360 it would have gotten 9.5 or higher. Guarantee it.

I'm somewhat annoyed as well, though it could have been a lot worse.

Though I'm more annoyed (and I normally hate to make comparisons) about how highly they scored Splinter Cell: Conviction in comparison to this.
Splinter Cell: Conviction - Presentation: 9 / Graphics: 8.5 / Sound: 9 / Gameplay: 9 / Lasting Appeal: 8.0 - overall 9.3
Monster Hunter Tri - Presentation: 8 / Graphics: 9 / Sound: 8.5 / Gameplay: 8.5 / Lasting Appeal: 9.5 - overall 8.8

Oh well, I guess it's personal taste. Still can't wait to get this game :D .

Funny thing about Splinter Cell. The largest score it gets in the details is a 9 and then the overall is larger than that? What gives?

Guaranteeing stuff that can never be disproven is nice.....

If Chickens had scales they would be less tasty, I guarantee it.

Theoretically , MH3 could come to 360, though...

I don't buy into this line of thought at all. There isn't a concerted effort to underrate Wii games. Lots of quality Wii games have received critical acclaim. Others are underrated, but this has happened to games on every platform in history so don't be so quick to reach for your foil hat.

I dunno, I think genetic engineering might be able to put scales on Chickens, there just really hasn't been a demand for it.  But now that the scientific community knows that this change would improve their taste I'm hoping for increased interest.
