I think Sony should seriously consider a Japanese only PSP shift. I mean, i guess if its profitable its fine in the states and others but id have to think some money and time could be more beneficial to their bottom line if they focused on Living Rooms...IE, PS3, 3D-BD, Home Theaters and TV's....integration, in the long run than keeping the PSP's nose above the water on a sinking ship.

Allegedly , it is doing GC graphics......that is definitely pushing insane graphics for a handheld.
Um OK? The PSP is pushing PS2 graphics and has been doing so since 2005
First of all the PSP is a PS1.5......it is no where close to the ps2.
And with that being said , the ps2 is no where near the gamecube in graphics.
first of all, you are very mis informed, as the CPU in the PSP is far superior to the one found in the PS2, and the PSP has more ram to work with, it is why the PSP can pull of this:
It is more powerful than the PS2, and the only thing that limits it is the UMD..The ps2 is as close to the GC as the GC is to the Wii in the graphic department, in other words they aren't too far apart.

it has plenty of quality games, what hte PSP needs is people to get interested in it again..
And it needs quality games for that to happen......which it doesnt.
It has plenty of quality games, not having as many as the DS is not a bad thing, considering how many games the DS has that are good. And it has MGS Peacewalker, a new Monster Hunter, KH: BBS and others on the way. Just because it doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it doesn't have quality.
Yes its future line up is looking good.....but can you honestly tell me the PSP has had a critically acclaimed since GOW:CoC and Crisis Core?
It is not my opinion as to the psp barely having any quality games , no psp game has been raved about since those 2.
I can honestly tell you the PSP has had amazing ip that have completely flopped because of lack of interest, and that is SONY's fault, that does not mean the platform does not get quality games.. the past year it HAD BETTER GAME releases than the DS in my opinion almost by far. Sadly gamers tend to ignore the platform because of w.e reason.
The PSP is definately underrated today. Maybe a few years back it wasn't worth it because of the lack of games but now there are many very good titles especially with the last 2 or 3 years

No it is not "far superior" but it is a little better but it is limited and just so you know , the psp has enormous trouble emulating the N64 and has no chance (spec wise) to even emulate the PS2.....so that should answer that.
The bolded is as wrong as you have ever been , show me a game on the ps2 which competed with Wind waker RE4 etc.
Hell look at the two RE4 versions , the gamecube version absolutely desimates the ps2 version even with the ps2 having an advantage of releasing a year later
Does that look like two systems in the same league?
N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!
To those trying to prove the power of one system against another, using pics/vids is not a very good reasoning. Why? Because the PSP is a generation ahead, and there is good chance that the game engines used to build them were more optimised than their PS2 counterparts.
I have not looked too much into detail with this, but I came up with some figures:
PS2: 6.2 GFLOPS PSP: 5 GFLOPS
There could be more to these figures then I found, but as far as floating point calculations go, the PS2 is still slightly ahead.

You know for one system to emulate another it generally has to at least be 3 to 10 times as powerful. It's a miracle it's possible for the PSP to emulate the N64 at all.
Even the mighty GameCube had trouble with emulating majora's mask which was a N64 game.
Consoles are not made to emulate other consoles, this requires a lot of processing power since the architectures differ, and adaptations need to be done. Even the PS3 or a high-spec PC has trouble when it comes to emulating the PS2's hardware.
You can't judge a console from that standpoint; it just makes no sense.
