Why are you asking me what I have already stated? {news flash} it aint gonna change. There's nothing more annoying than people refusing to believe their childhood masterpieces can be topped. I get the same response like you gave me when I say MGS4 is the best game ever, but oh well that isn';t going to change the said experience I had with those games. And many people found xenogears story overly convoluted & disliked it, I listened to IGN's podcast beyond a few weeks back and they weren't exactly saying really great things about it, one of them said "The intro CGI to it was great, too bad the game wasn't that great". @mjk45 Persona 4 was an extremely dull & boring game, I found most of the social elements annoying, I prefer a more direct approach, the characters nor the storyline really got to me, the whole school thing was so boring, I played 6 hours and got bored...... then a month back someone here convinced me to try shin megami tensei on DS I tried the shin megami tensei devil survivor game for DS and loved it, it had a much more gripping storyline, better music, but most importantly gripping storyline. And now SMT Strange Journey looks to even top that. In comparison Persona 4 was a bore. |
Funny, I know a CRAPTON of people who thought that FFXIII was a terrible game (not that I agree with them). As for Xenogears, there are people who simply don't understand its plot and write it off as being "convoluted" and "a game that doesn't make any sense". Just because they couldn't comprehend it doesn't mean it was bad. Though, I don't understand what you mean by many people didn't like Xenogears's plot. Go check out all the user reviews around different game sites, go check the professional reviews for Xenogears (including IGN's) go around the different gaming forums around the web, go check the different Xenogears threads on this site (there is a search engine now for you to do that) and you'll see that ALOT of people felt that Xenogears has one of the best (or the very best) storyline gaming had to offer. Though really, all you have to do is actually play Xenogears to see what I (and many other people) mean. You don't have to take my word for it.
