Things we noticed in the new debute trailer:

-Looks like the city get destroyed from some sort of bomb and everyone got burned into ashes

-The locusts vs the humans vs the lambent

-new ground creatures that look more like spiders (New alien possibly?)

-The humans look 15 years older

-This is the last game in the series (Chronilogically)

-Shotgun sounds more like Halo shotgun

-Female cogs

-looks like they brought back gears 1's gritty theme

-4-player co-op

Cliffy talked about that monster a bit in the actual show, I couldn't really hear the name of it, but it can change shape while you are fighting it, and that is the much greater threat

The Highlighted are the things that I'm mostly interested in Gears 3.

The Lambent are not really new...in Gears 2 when you travel beneath Jacinto to fight the queen you see the beginings of the War between the Locust and the Lambent, and Lambent Wretches were in Gears 1 (the exploding, glowing wretches).

IIRC the Lambent are just locust who have been exposed to too much juice (I forget the term they use for the ooze beneath the ground).  At the end of Gears 2 though, your Brumack goes lambent and you destroy him, to act like a bomb.

On topic, new shotgun, and female skins for Multiplayer have me pumped.  BUT what would really have me pumped is a commitment from Epic to fixing the multiplayer.  I love me some Execution, but I would love it even more without the frustration!

I'll just wait until more stuff comes out about it. I'm still playing gears 2. It takes me along time to beat games. lol

1) No, that was destroyed along time ago. There are the ruins of the rest of planet destroyed when the COG tried to halt the Locust advance. In the timeline this happened long before the first game

2) Locust v Humans v Lambent (Mutant Locust). There are no aliens. The Lambent arent even new to the series

3) Thats a new type of Lambent

7) Apparently thats Anya, right now Im just going with that. And dont think shes the first female Gear, just the first one shown in game
