Okay, now those two replies make a bit more sense to me, lol.

Out of the Zelda's I've played, I'd probably rank them like this:

OoT
TP
Majora's Mask
WW
Legend of Zelda
Legend of Zelda II

I haven't played any of the others yet (was never big on handhelds, and didn't own an SNES), but I plan to download ALttP when I get more Wii points.

Also, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess are interchangeable for second place, as I haven't played MM recently enough to make a definitive comparison.

Hmmmm... I don't think there will be a Zelda in '08 because Aonuma said the story was pretty much up in the air at E3 and it takes years to develop a LOZ game.

I've played all of them, and although the order shifts periodically mine goes something like:

OoT
WW
TP
MM
aLttP

of course there aren't actually any Zelda games that I don't like, but those 5 really stand out for me as more than just great.  They are outstanding.

Joystiq thinks it's a fansite.

well if its a fansite sont you think nintendo would close it

Maybe...of course it's a brand new page. Maybe they are too busy to notice. I usually wait to get excited about something until it has some sort of confirmation. And even then sometimes you get this awesome Zelda trailer at some ancient E3 where Link was fighting Ganondorf and he was grown-up...then they release Windwaker.

the zelda where link was fighting ganon as an adult would of been good, but i loved WW so no downside for me

Self-delete. I didn't read the whole thread before posting this.

Definitely fake.

And btw, I think TP & TWW are tied for best Zelda.

Nah, OoT is greater than both.

@everyone: I don't understand all the love for WW.  Personally, I found the game to be really easy, and the quest for the Triforce shards to be lengthy, monotonous, and entirely unneeded. It was the epitome of fetch quests, but had it not been put in the game, it would've been far too short.  The quest was filler, nothing more, and when 1/4th to 1/3rd of a game is filler, there's a serious problem.

Does anybody else feel the same way?

No.

OoT is outdated in story, controls, graphics and pretty much everything, period.

To quote Sheik from OoT:

"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed
seems different for each person, but no one can
change it... A thing that does not change with
time is a memory of younger days..." -Sheik

It applies to OoT perfectly.

TWW is better because:

Best music in the series

Best graphics in the series

Deepest, most interesting plot in the series

The first half of the game doesn't suck (child portion of OoT)

Much more & much better sidequests

Much better world to explore

Much better controls

More fun to play

It's aged VERY well when you compare it to a lot of other 2003 games.

TP is better because:

Much better plot

Much better version of Hyrule

Much better controls

Much better athmosphere

Much better graphics

You can be a wolf :D

The first half of the game doesn't suck (child portion of OoT)

Better dungeons, best in the series

Just plain the most fun to play, of any Zelda in the series

They're simply much better.

Interesting to think where the next Zelda game will take place in the timeline. We know Twilight Princess and Wind Waker are on the same side of the timeline, which is split thx to OOT. So for TP to enter WW it needs to have a very very sad game, cause in Wind Waker it was obviously a very sad prologue. So the next Zelda game is either going to jump back to the other side of the timeline, or we are prepared for maybe the darkest installment into the adventure yet.

 Ha, but no.

Split timeline...Wind Waker is the whole reason it started to exist really. The adult ending of OoT is where Wind Waker and it's prologue happen. TP is in the child ending of OoT. Two seperate timelines.

I disagree Togepi. I can go back and play OoT and still enjoy it just as much as Wind Waker or TP. A great game is one you can go back and play 10 years later and still have a blast. I respect your opinion on OoT, but I pretty much completely disagree with it.

i hope the next zelda game is a little more difficult than TP was. The last two games were great (TP and WW) and i can't wait to play the next one.

I really hope the next Zelda to be dark, be different (gameplay), have mezmorising characters and an epic story. ^^ That would make me uber happy.

You know, I think we can do that. We just need to make a few small changes so bear with me.

First, Link will need a makeover. I'm sorry but green just isn't cutting it anymore. The green will have go. And you know, Link isn't really that popular of a name. When was the last time you actually saw a boy named Link in real life? We'll need a better name that's more in line with what people these days are familiar with and has some street-cred. How about... Seto Kaiba. Actually, scratch the Kaiba part, Seto is cool enough on its own and we're dealing in awesomeness, not cards.

The hookshot lacks street-cred too so we'll need something with a bit more down and dirty. Like... a flashlight. That could work. Let's go ahead and replace the sword with a stick too. Is that a Master Sword? No. A Master Shake? No. It's a Master Stick. Loads'o'street-cred there.

And you know, Zelda really hasn't added much to the series and won't be in the next game so we can just go ahead and axe her. That kinda throws the whole triforce thing out the window too but who really liked that anyway. Ganondorf can go too, we need a new look for our badguy and balding just isn't working anymore. Ganon, we're sorry but you're fired.

Now that Zelda is gone, the title really doesn't match anymore. I mean, this isn't the Legend of Zelda... it's a better legend... with street-cred. Let's call it something like... Fragile.

So there you have it. A dark, different, epic Zelda game with some street-cred.

I have to ask. Is that a joke?
