9.0 Presentation
Stylish menus and cool projection technology make for a unique experience. The story is an amalgamation of different seasons of 24, but it's nice to see Sam so angry.
8.5 Graphics
Nice animations. Gritty but good-looking environments. The framerate occasionally dips, but it's nothing major.
9.0 Sound
Michael Ironside does a great job reprising his role as Sam Fisher. The enemies have some nice quips. Solid musical score.
9.0 Gameplay
Stealth is fast and fun. Mark & Execute is a great addition. The AI is excellent if you play on Realistic difficulty.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
The single-player and co-op campaigns are short, but there's a lot of other things to do. And you'll probably want to play through everything more than once.

9.3 Outstanding OVERALL

how does that make it a 9.3? isnt that a 8.7 for overall? I know Im not the first one to mention it though

The final score is NOT an average..however it is a bit weired that when no single aspect got more than 9.0, that the overall will be a 9.3

oh well not like IGN reviews matter...they have been full of shit imo since the days of the Godhand review

Yeah why don't you go take a look at Heavy Rain review and then come back to me and act all confused... the game as a whole is greater than the sum if it's parts... that's all

Sorry didn't mean to make you so angry Sam fisher :P I mean really....chillout

And first of all HR has NOTHING to do with this thread and secondly HR got a 9.0...and it had gotten 9s for some aspects of it unlike in the case of SC:C... did you even read my post? I said it's not an average but the fact none of the single categories got a score of around 9.3 and yet the final score is that makes it look weired

Hmmm.....what was wrong with HEAVY RAIN's review?

Nothing, but all of its individual scores are equal to or below the overall score, so people need to stop acting like this has never happened before.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Yep 5 hours for single player campaign does stink and quite shameful but co-op adds on a few more hours as does the special ops and then theres the MP. I think Ubisoft concentrated on the online aspect of it.

Just a warning to some people -

If you say you will be renting this, watch out... You will be a baddie!

But people are saying it got a 9.3 when none of the scores is higher than a 9. HEAVY RAIN's overall is a 9 with 9s in the score. Quite different.

How is it different? Heavy Rain has 8's and 8.5's, in fact more of those than it has 9's. Stop grasping at straws just because it's Heavy Rain.

a game as a whole is better than the individual parts... that is my point... lasting appeal probably should have been a bit higher but that's really an opinion much like his final score... he tries to keep it technical for the other scores...

maybe this only make sense to people who aren't extreme fanboys.

but HEAVY RAIN has individual scores that equal to final score.

While SC has NO individual scores equal to final score, they are all less than final scores.

Does that make sense now? or am I just wasting my time here?
