Forums - Nintendo - Looks like WarioWare DIY has been a big sales bomb.

DIY only sold 10k during opening week in NA.  Japanese sales haven't been stellar either, with a rapid decline in sales after a couple weeks.  Looks like the biggest Nintendo bomb so far of this year.

The last WarioWare game sold over 2 million on DS.  Does this game mean that people are less interested in creating games than playing them?  Or will this game manage to capture an American audience in the coming weeks?

That was real?
I only saw a joke about on April first. I thought it was an april fools joke.

Its been out for 1 week in NA, don't call it a bomb yet. The concept is probably off putting to some, but positive word of mouth should help give this title legs

I'm not saying it won't turn around, but the Japan charts haven't been a good indication that this game will have legs.  I agree that 1 week is too early to judge a game, especially a Nintendo game.  However, this game had a really bad 1st week in NA-- and I did see many in-store advertisements for this game.

Okay if you think its to early to call it a bomb, than why did you? Like you said its a nintendo title, so as more people buy into it and tell others about it, it will pick up. Other games have had worse starts, Just dance and Brain age started below 10,000 and they have both been very successful. We'll just have to wait and see if this truely is a bomb

That's a shame, it looks interesting.

I'm loving the game so far! So much fun making my own games and using objects from other games into my own...

Former something....

I ordered it from gamestop the other day, so let me see if it deserves to bomb or not =P

It look's very promising, however. I really hope it legs its way to a million by some miracle. If it doesn't, I blame the title. Title's are very important to how well games could sell IMO. "WarioWare DIY...what the heck is that?""Micro-game creator? (mock title) Now that sounds kind of cool. I want to try this."

Anyone who pays any attention to Malstrom's blog should not find this surprising in the least bit.

Its not a game for everyone , its not for who wants to play but for those who want to make then, i think that its a game the will have a slow start , but in a couple of months it will pick it up , when people realizes what the can do , and what they can create with ...
