Forums - Sony - Question about hd cords

Hai guys.

I want to hook up my ps3 slim to an Olevia HDtv. What kind of cable do I need? I see ones with like USB looking ends and ones with last gen looking ends. Total noob here when it comes to HDtvs so any help would be appreciated. Extra points for those of you who attach pics from amazon. ♥

You need one of these:

Could be the USB looking thing you mentioned.

Go with the USB looking ends (HDMI), they are as far as I know the only way to output 1080p.

HDMI is the way to go, the Sony cables they usually recommend with the machine itself are fine, they cost about half the regular ones so I bought two myself (one for the slim and one for our HD decoder).

Edit; they cost less than half when I checked now. I bought my cables (3 meters) for 350 NOK each and the cheapest alternative here was a Supra HDMI 1 meter cable for the same price...

:o ty for the answers guys

That is the exact one that I bought twice. Once for my PS3 and then for my 360. I have had one of them for over a year now and it still is working good and the other one is only a week or two old. It is a solid cable. Is a little more expensive now as I bought both of mine for $0.32.
