Forums - Microsoft - Whos gonna sell the most on this Black Friday weekend?

I was at a Best Buy on Black Friday and asked the guy how long it took for the Wiis to sell. He just laughed. He then added "We were out so quickly I started recommending 360s and PS3s to to people in place of a Wii. Many asked if they were made by Nintendo and when I told them that the DS was, they bought one of those instead... However soon we were out of those to, I mean, it wasn't even funny, we emptied our entire DS stock (200+ units) before noon."

Yeah, I don't really get why people would think that the Wii being out of stock helps the PS3 or the 360 significantly. It might happen with some hardcore gamers, but I doubt that those wouldn't have bought those consoles anyway...

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

We will never know, but Here is my guess

1. DS - Two new deals (Zelda and Nin dogs) along with a low price and a shortage of Wii's.
2. Wii - Large amount of held stock used to draw in customers.
3. 360 - One of the Skus was being advertised as a deal, even if it wasn't new.
4. PSP - Some combo deals were advertised.
5. PS3 - I didn't see any 'deals' advertised like the of the consoles.

This is what I noticed when I went through the ad's for Black Friday.

The ps3 was sold out in best buy O_O

At Circuit City they were sold out of Wii's before the opened since they were giving out vouchers. They had 1 Pro and Arcade left. Finally, I feel bad for PS3, they had a whole stock of PS3 40GB laying on the floor and the whole 1:30 hour I spent in line I did not see anyone grabbing one. I can't say how the 80GB did tho.

There were alot of people buying ps3's at best buy today, and they were buying gutar hero as well. I was suprised. The 40gb is very attractive, but the ladie that was going to buy it could not. The best buy geek  squad go told her that it does not play ps2 games, and the 80gb does. But she did not like the $499.99 price tag, therefore she went on to the 360 elite and bought it..
