Would a humble company have built a machine as incredible as the PS3? There is nothing wrong with Sony realising how good they are. They just need to be careful that this does not upset too many people.

Their expectations of the Move say otherwise... There's still a good way to go before they get the true value of humility into their bloodstream.
Too late for me now. The too expensive PS3, the supply constrains, the NO Europe release, the bad network and all the other mistakes made me a XBOX fan.
I now have 4 games for the PS3 and 40 for the XBOX (plus downloadable content).
I remember when Kuturagi said that "people will buy a PS3 even if it costs 3.0000", I guess he was WRONG.
"It only does everything" except what it doesn't do.....
Really? While I think the Kevin Butler ads are awesome, they're still arrogant. Take the recent "Kevin Butler from the future" ad, totally arrogant, but totally amazing, so who cares if they're arrogant in that case.
As for this PR release, in my opinion it's kind of arrogant to say "hey, we're not arrogant anymore!" (about marketing of course).
I thought the creepy baby was funny. But I do like Kevin Butlers ads better.
Good for Sony, and good for us. Now if only Sony fanboys lost their arrogance...
I agree with the people who say that it wasn't arrogance in marketing but price and lack of great games that hurt their initial sales. But, Kuturagi was right. People did buy it at $600 (I was one). Just not many people.
As for the ads, the initial ones were just bizarre and probably over the heads of most people. The new ones are funny and appeal to a wider audience. I don't see the "It Only Does Everything" campaign as arrogant, just funny.
Yeah the 600 price was definitely the draw back. It was just too pricey. I seriously believe if they launch at 249.99 or 299.99 next gen that they will be a serious force to be reckon with.
