I know this may be a bit late but I just found out about the iphone making more money than the psp and my thoughts are..."really?" How can you compare the sales of a PHONE to a gaming system? I have a few friends that buys these stupid little games on their Iphones, when I ask why the most common response is "just to kill time when i'm waiting on something". It's very hard to find a person in NA that doesn't own a cell phone and the Iphone is at&t's golden egg, users of their service are picking up like toilet paper. Not everyone is not a gamer but everyone uses a phone and in my OP comparing a game system and a cell phone is down right stupid. Thoughts? Please be respectful.

But you are correct... more people have phones than gaming consoles...

I have an iPhone and have spent countless hours playing games on it. I've never owned a PSP. Just my two cents.

I sort of agree, too. It's silly comparing stuff like Iphone/iPod touch to PSP, DS, or any other dedicated gaming system. If such a vast ocean of games were available for free or a few dollars on those systems, they'd see way better sales, too.

some iPhone games are ok, most are meh to me, but most people are ok with little games to "kill time" rather than other experiences because that's what they want.

It also helps that the iPhone is an all in one device. I think if there was a PSP phone (so to speak) that did everything the iPhone did but had PSP games instead (and a wider selection of PSP minis since we're doing a hypotehtical here) then the roles might be reversed.

So to sum up. People like not carrying multiple devices and some people like little mini games to pass time but yes comparing sales of the two is kinda dumb.

As an Iphone user.. It's not our fault that companies are taking it serious.. capcom, square enix, id software, ea and a lot more developers are starting to make games for it.. so yes.. you can compare them.. The Iphone isn't that old and now we are seeing better and better games on it.

Developers are starting seeing the Iphone market as a better one then the PSP.. sucks for the PSP.. but that's life..

well the fact that smartphone's are hanheld's just like the PS an Nintendo DS with the fact that these cellphones are getting processor's have ram an GPU's that are in effect give them capabilities to do far more than just communication's, when you have companies like square enix bring final fantasy to the Iphone:

an now with 3D chip set's becoming more common in cellphone's developer's have a new market to produce game's in it. EVEN SONY is working on a Playstation Phone!
