PS3 outsell the 360 for one week and now you believe that it will out sell them for the rest of the year.  Yeah, keep dreaming.

230k a week isn't gonna happen, summer'll make sure of that.

And why do people care so much about the ps3 catching up to the 360? As long as the ps3 matches the 360 since nov 2006 I'd consider it even.

Oh boy, pretty good chance the PS3 is dethroning the 360 this year. Considering the 360 is already $200 (as it was more than a year ago, and see above how close it ended against a $400 PS3 the first 9 months of 2009), I'd say the PS3 is in pretty good shape to reclaim the throne in USA for Sony.

^^PS3 is back in stock now, it will outsell 360 every week in Americas until it is sold out again.

And please explain to me how this is going happen just out of curiosity.  PS3 manages to outsell the 360 by only 5k units with a GOW3 hardware boost.  The PS3 has no significant exclusive software releases over the next couple months outside of perhaps Modnation Racers while the 360 has Splinter Cell Conviction and Crackdown 2 over the same period.  Listen the PS3 is doing great and its a fantastic system but lets be realistic here.  There is no way the PS3 will be outselling the 360 very often in the America's.  This fall it has no chance at all in America with the Fable 3, Halo Reach combo.  Will it outsell it sometimes?  Sure but your way off in predictiing that it will outsell the 360 nearly every week for the rest of the year.  Way off.

You're right, and very just. But the trend since last year is PS3 over 360 in USA. My humble speculative opinion is the PS3 will not shatter the 360 in USA, but will do just enough to dethrone it (as reigning HD gaming console king) in yearly sales.

I never even said the latter.. but ofcourse.. lets assume that I did, just for the heck of it. GOW III did not boost ps3 hardware, what boosted the hardware was the fact shortages had begun to drop off.. Now the system is getting hefty stock atleast on online retailers, and has shot up to the top spots for ALL online retailers, that enough indicates to me the system should see an increase in hardware for the forthcoming week. The ps3 with shortages wasn't too far off from the 360 in the americas. Now imo, I believe it will surpass the 360 by a descent margin weekly atleast for the next couple of months. Thanks to the supply increase, if the supply increase is just momentary, then it wont happen, but I'm starting to doubt it is only a slight spike in supply.

No way does the PS3 outsell the 360 for the year. It's just behind despite dropping Heavy Rain, God Of War 3, and FFXIII in rapid succession. And only FF was available on the 360. The 360 has Splinter Cell and Crackdown comin, as well as Fable and Halo for the holidays. Unless Sony has something to help GT out for the holidays (Agent maybe? Or an E3 surprise perhaps....) I dont see it. Lets not forget Natal launching which the American press is giving more love than even the Wii right now seemingly.
