Forums - General - movie remakes? love'm are hate'm

Do you like when hollywood remakes a movie. Has hollywood thought of every type of possible movie? I personally thinks it ruins the orginal. I did''nt like the fact that they remade Friday the 13th. I thought the remake was just overkill. I did however like the remake of the Texas chainsaw massacre. I thought that was better than the orginal. So if you like movie remakes, what's your favorite one and why?

I love them.

There are movies that I thoroughly enjoy even though I know they’re pretty terribly made, and a remake of these movies done well could actually make me quite happy. Unfortunately, these b-movies are generally not what Hollywood remakes and they take good movies and use popular but unimpressive actors, directors and writers to make a flashier but worse movie. I haven’t seen the new Clash of the Titans but the original is one of these movies that I saw great potential for a remake; and if it turns out well it might be good.

In general, I just wish Hollywood would start working on their own projects again and leave books, TV shows, comic books, videogames and (pretty much) every other medium alone for awhile. Hollywood has used other people’s creativity to hide the fact that they have steadily become an uncreative marketing machine that favours style over substance; and since they’re not particularly good at making a solid movie on their own they tend to ruin the work of others when they make a movie out of them.

majority are rubbish, I can only think of 3 I like.

I think they should stop.

Let The Right One In is fucking perfect the way it is. Remaking is not only unnecessary, but also stupid because the movie is only 2 years old.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

I love them... Childhood memories are the best and any way to return to them is always welcome.

I hate remakes. I honestly can not name 5 good film remakes.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

The Longest Yard is probably the only remake I really enjoyed and liked like the original

I like them. I see them as an "alternate dimension" of the original with a different outlook.

depends on the film, sometimes a remake can make a whole new generation of people aware of a classic (Alice in Wonderland) but everytime a remake is announced I'm always a bit wary
