Forums - General - Ban the Burqa

I don't think they should be banned. People should be allowed to wear what they want IMO.

But i DO think that anyone seen wearing one in, or near any airport should be searched.

Most women who wear Burqa's are often indoctrinated.

People shouldn't be allowed to wear what they want. Walking around nude is illegal here too. If someone wears a KKK outfit they will be arrested as well.

Just giving a few examples as to why people aren't allowed full freedom in what they're wearing.

And can you possibly imagine someone wearing a Burqa at your work? How is that even practical? Do you honestly think someone is going to hire them if they wear a Burqa? Not in Belgium I tell you

Why would they even want to wear one? There's no sandstorms here for crying out loud. And that's the reason why burqa's were made...

Would you like it if you're prime minister(if she's a woman) wore a Burqa all of a sudden? Do you honestly think no one would get mad about something like that?

If people are allowed to wear what they want, where ever they want then you should have no problem with that.

Those clips at the end were so ridiculous I can't take this video that seriously.

OT: We don't need more intolerance in this world.

First Post, Best Post.

Who cares, are they harming you by wearing it? No.

Btw the chick in the vid is pretty hot.

Well the problem occured that a women had to shown her ID and herself to show it was really her. She answered what is the point of wearing a Burqa when I have to show myself?

And all those small accidents like someone in burqa was seen on a camera stealing a product in store. The guard wanted to see if the she had more products under her and he may not because of her religion....What will be the endresult?  Next day the storeowner will not accept people in burqa in his store..

After airports, banks...and schools, it will be schools, libraries, hospitals etc...

Those women in Burqa can not function in this society anymore....and sadly some don't want to wear one but they have to...

Then I can see this law passed....it is maybe sad for the freedom of religion but I think women rights are way more important than this.

It's kind of meh banning women from wearing that in the streets. Though it's not really surprising since a lot of politians (and not only) see Europe as definitely having a problem with the integration of muslims, and well, burqa is quite a radical sight in that aspect.

As for schools (France banned headscarves in those), public institutions and the likes - I don't think there's much to complain there. I had to wear a school uniform, wasn't allowed to dye my hair or to have it long. I've had a job where I had to wear a tie. Most public institutions and private job places already impose rules on how one's to dress. So I don't see why some other dressing tradition should be allowed to override those.

Makes sense to ban them in airports and the likes, but as for regular walking around, a hat and some sunglasses already conceal enough. And you can hide under a trenchcoat whatever it is that you can hide under a burqa.

A lot of them are forced to wear them. Thats why they should be banned, the discrimination against women in the main religions is disgusting and must end. Unfortunatly, that doesn't look like changing any time soon...

I like to use the word indoctrination here instead of being forced to do so :P

Except you know... banning the Burqa is an assault on womans rights.  It's patriachial protection bullshit.

It's the government telling women they can't wear something.

They already do this, women aren't allowed to wear balacalavas in shops airports and various other places as it conceals their identity.
