No, and for one reason, I don't think the Wii will hold people's interest long enough to sell over 100 million. With that said, I want a Wii, and am still debating getting one. PS360 is good, but I really want to play SMG....like, REALLY bad. It's killing me. I still have dreams about SM64, and continue to have wet dreams about SMG!!! Aarrgh.

The wii is a great little system but it will never sell more then the PS2, the PS2 had no competition last gen, if you wanted to game the PS2 was the system to have. This gen the wii is far too weak for the long run, no DVD playback either, no major online network.

The wii is up against the 360/PS3 which are alot better consoles then the xbox/GC were last gen. The wii also lacks the major games that the 360/PS3 have.

As much as I wouldn't mind seeing it happen...I see the Wii "struggling" past 80 million. My reason: competition.

When the Wii moves more than 4 million copies of a movie based game, I'd think so.

Although I see the Wii selling in the 100 Million range, I don't think it can pass the PS2. The PS2 had practically no competition last generation while the Wii has some with the Xbox360 and PS3. The DS on the other hand probably will though.

I though Wii has no competition? Most gamers own multiple consoles from competitors for whatever reason. Because Wii is unique enough it won't have struggle issues due to competition, it would struggle due to games.

But, I don't believe the 'competition' argument is at all valid.


I mean, the DS is supposedly worse than the PSP, but we've seen how that played out..... for some reason facts are never a reason to actually think before opening up brainless ideas.

That's the point. The logic behind PS3 being better technology than the Wii means Wii won't last is like saying due to PSP having better technology than the DS the PSP will win.

Neither has obviously happened yet. DS is still crushing in sales. Appearance means nothing. Facts mean everything.

I am suprised Soriku didn't start this thread.
