I think the PS2 sales are about 120 million - 130 million after about 7 years...I'm pretty sure the Wii will pass that amount by about.... 2010-2011...and then it will go on to sell 300 MILLION UNITS- 500 MILLION UNITS LIFETIME....i think johnlucas's prediction is very close...

So what do you think???

Wii won't be on the market long enough to achieve it. I think Wii will probably sell about 80 million units in its lifetime, although don't quote me on that.

 Not going to happen. With sales of 20M a year, that would take 15 to 25 years.

Exactly, it will only be a matter of time and more quality consoles.

If you asked me a few months ago, I would be suspicious. Now, I think it probably will happen.

You are basing that on Wii first year sales...I know for a fact that the PS2 sold LESS THAN 20 MILLION UNITS FIRST YEAR....and then sold a lot the years after...

There is a higher % of PS2's breaking than Wii's. So that is one of the many reasons PS2 has sold a lot: people buying a new one to replace their broken one. I can't see the Wii reaching that but I bet it comes close. It would be awesome if it surpassed it. I think that would be cool.

The DS will own the record this gen no matter what happens, the PS2 and Wii won't.
