You can't say for sure it's only Torne moving systems when there's been a couple of games that sold nearly 400k on back to back weeks.

Yeah, it was. And you're right, I think GoW has always crashed hard in Japan. |
It's weird too, because I don't see American Hack and Slash games as THAT different. The only real difference I tend to see is that Japanese ones tend to be more theatrical... in the traditional sense.
That is, if God of War is a movie, Musou games are a play. I know the Dynasty Warrior games almost give off a Kabuki feeling. This one i imagine will be different considering it's source. I do hope it gets released state side.
It's kinda weird cause that I can't point to it, but they kinda gives off that feeling.
Actually come to think of it I feel that way about Japanese and Western made RPGS too... games like Knights of the Old Republic felt like a movie, while even the most recent Final Fantasy games like FF12 remind me more of a play then movie. With the notable exception being Fallout on the western side... which felt like D&D... because it basically was D&D.
Maybe it's just me though.

It doesn't look any different from any of the other Musou games to me other then the change of setting. Which is actually a plus for me, I like the Musou games.

Leo, it's Fist of the north Star! Of course it is amazing.
Have you never read/seen it? Best manga ever. Good anime, too.
OH SHIT YOU CAN PLAY AS TOKI?
AND RAOH OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

That trailer really reminds me how little I actually know about the series. They'd play it all the time when I was younger late at night, but for some reason the episodes were never in order. So it was nothing but mishmashed episodes of Kenshiro totally kicking ass. Which was cool enough, but I always thought everyone was against him in general. Didn't know there were different sides.
Had the same problem with Dragonball actually. Jumped around like crazy for no good reason.

Might I suggest looking on MangaFox? There's a couple of volumes missing in the middle but you can get your bearings pretty quickly regardless, and it's a very good series.
