Oh wait, you probably meant in Japan.  Is it a surprise?  God Of War is basically the epitome of the "Stupid American Game" according to the Japanese buying interests.

I was making a Fist of the North Star reference, the subject of which is the subject of the game Hokuto Musou.

I got that part of the refrence, just took a second.

Kratos though was in refrence to GOW right?  I don't remember a Kratos in Fist of the North Star.

Yeah, it was.

And you're right, I think GoW has always crashed hard in Japan.

It's weird too, because I don't see American Hack and Slash games as THAT different.  The only real difference I tend to see is that Japanese ones tend to be more theatrical... in the traditional sense.

That is, if God of War is a movie, Musou games are a play.  I know the Dynasty Warrior games almost give off a Kabuki feeling.  This one i imagine will be different considering it's source.  I do hope it gets released state side.

It's kinda weird cause that I can't point to it, but they kinda gives off that feeling.

Actually come to think of it I feel that way about Japanese and Western made RPGS too... games like Knights of the Old Republic felt like a movie, while even the most recent Final Fantasy games like FF12 remind me more of a play then movie.  With the notable exception being Fallout on the western side... which felt like D&D... because it basically was D&D.

Maybe it's just me though.
