Okay, so I'm making a list of brand new ideas for Pokemon fith generation. I will come up with great ideas and I want you guys to reply with yours.

New pokemon

-In pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver we are left with 493 pokemon, I want this number to be bumped up to at least 640 for the next generation.

-I also want there to be at least 2 new types, the current types are Normal fire water electric grass ice fighting poison ground flying psychic bug rock ghost dragon dark steel.

-I want the pokemon to look larger when you level them up, some pokemon don't get too big so don't worry about it popping of the screen.

-Get the proportions right! In the cartoon dragonight looks as huge as a building, in the game it's the same size as diglett (Diglett can fit in your palm).

-Oh, and enough with all the legendaries, add three to the new game and call it a quits, too many legendaries make them seem boring to have.

New moves

I'm not asking for many new moves, just a little more. Have moves that go into the new types as mentioned before.

Trainers

I can't count the amount of times that I see two trainers that look alike (when battling them), I want a lot more diversity between trainers.

I also think that the ability to customize your own character in the beginning of the game is a great idea, I hate being stuck playing with a character they tell you to be. I would like the ability to change hair, hat, shirt, pants, skin color, and the way they throw the Pokeball.

Writing

I know Pokemon is meant for all ages but it would be very good if they added in some adult humor into it. They could do it similar to how Pixar adds funny adult jokes into kids movies.

 I also think the talking is very repetitive, I think Game Freak could add some twists to it (Emerald did the best in this department).

Smoother combat!

Why the hell does it rain/hail/sandstorm at the end of each round? It should the whole battle. Also, it doesn't need to tell me every little thing that happens, it should just do the damage/healing automatically.

New 3DS features

-Updated graphics (I like diamond/Peal/Hg/SS up and down view when your walking but add a graphics apdate to that.

-The combat needs the biggest improvement. You can see all the pixles on the pokemon, it should have smoother skin, horns etc. The 3D feature should work best with moves like water gun, flamthrower etc.

-The 3DS should be able to hold a lot more content, they should add more than one region.

Extra wants

-I want to be able to customize my own little tree hut/underground place in 3-D, I think that would be cool!

-Make the game more difficult, I spend nearly an hour with Diamond and I  got 3 gym badges! I think it should take at least three trys to beat a gym leader.

-Make puzzles more difficult and fun, they are creative, they should be doing this from now on.

That is all I have, add some comments and I will add them to OP if I think its a good idea (Sales wise and my opinion). GO!

Wait? Are we talking about what we should put in the game.
We need a pokemon game where we can go to all the regions not just 1 or 2! That would be the ultimate pokemon game. It'll be called

Added the region idea, and I don't want it to be called pokemon 2 :p

I wish there was just a complete redesign to the game.
IMO the gameplay and story is stale and brittle. Same old same old.

Why not start as an elite 4 member whose country is invaded by another and they have all these crazy poke types... similar to the invasions of europe by the far eastern powers who had strange technology like missile launchers and harnessed elephants. Perhaps some trainers are also super intelligent emancipated pokemon.
And maybe a demon/angel based poketype.

EDIT: also, you better fucking remove poffins, and any other Multiplayer bullshit that cannot be acheived by single-player only gaming. I don't have many friends who still play pokemon with the kind of hardcore ferocity that I do, so stop embarassing me.

No new types, unless this is a far off, distant region that is currently unfamiliar with previous regions.

Here's an idea for Pokemon fifth gen:

Use the '3D' engine to change the battle engine. In other words, have the Pokemon fully animated and tie that into new advancements in the gameplay.

Its time for Pokemon to have some significant change besides watching pokemon dance and energy bars drop.  And beyond that, the game engine is quite broken, with about 20 Pokemon vastly overpowered over all the rest.  And its not just because the Pokemons 'stats'.  Its also based on the fundemental game engine, such as certain moves being overpowered or certain effects making some Pokemon types better against others.  The constant small tweaks they've been doing since Ruby/Sapphire and Diamond/Pearl didn't help.  They need to rehaul the whole game engine.

Well, considering the 3DS will probably use a new type of cartridge or media source with a larger capacity (maybe upwards of 1-4 GB), I don't think the cart size will be a limitation.  Its more about the time and effort needed in transversing 493 + new Pokemon over to a 3D game with full animations.  That's the real reason Pokemon games have kept the style they have.

I mean, if you look at all other Monster Training/hunting games, they have gone fully 3D and have full animations for a wide variety of monsters, some totalling well over 100.  From Dragon Quest Monsters to Monster Hunter.  Pokemon could do it just as easily.  In fact ,even easier, as Pokemon is the one series that not only has a dedicated team devoted to a monster training game, but a whole COMPANY focused on making one series.  They just don't want to break the formula they have going, which is understandable because its still selling multiple millions.
