Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 2 and Vanguard in the tutorial level of Demons Souls!!
Both are close to impossible.

The optional bosses in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 are relative pushovers.

KH2 Sephiroth poses a minor threat, but can be defeated easily if you know his moves.

Okie Dokie!  I guess I just suck then.  haha

Correct.

Tutorial Vanguard is quite easy if you are proficient at dodging, as you need to get out of the way from his first two swings and position yourself in an Southwestern position near his left leg.

This will cause a glitch in the Vanguard AI, and the only move he'll ever use is the Flying butt stomp which is fairly easy to dodge. Just kept hitting him, whenever you see him fly, get away, and when he hits the ground immediatly go back to hit him. I've killed him with pretty much every class using this, even the painstakingly slow Temple Knight.

True.  But without a guide it takes several times of replaying the entire tutorial level to figure that out.  For that matter, the Flamelurker on New Game + is ridiculous if you don't use the hiding behind the ribcage maneuver.

Actually I didn't even use a guide for this one :P

First time I went through the game as a Knight I managed to get him to half his HP before his swing hit me.

Flamelurker is an entirely different beast. He gets harder and harder as each new NG+ comes and goes. On NG+5 his AoE fire spell can take over 800 HP, even with 450 Fire Resistance like my Platinum Character had. I managed to beat him all the time in a straight fight though, with the Dragon Bone Smasher +5 and Sticky White Stuff.

Okie Dokie!  I guess I just suck then.  haha

Don't sweat it, I know people who have the Platinum for Demon's Souls who haven't even be able to touch the Vanguard.

I just took a more Ninja Gaiden like approach to Demon's Souls, it paid off in the end :P

Wait, one can play Demon's Souls kind like Ninja Gaiden, where defense is more about dodging and striking?

I need to pick this stuff up

Battle 51 of the God Hand arena.

In fact, just try beating God Hand on Hard.

And any FF boss is easy if you grinded enough.

I may say the FF8 final boss....or the FF13 one (stage 2....stage 3 is a joke)....but once you know the things the stage 2 boss is susceptible to its easy!

darth, you thought the boss was hard at Stage 2?

I mean, the boss had no powerful attacks. I mean, one, but it was Gravity based for characters above 25% HP. Seriously, the normal enemies in the final dungeon were a lot harder.

I don't wanna get into specifics here cus I don't think khuutra would appreciate us spoiling the boss for him

but lolol it DOES have a POWERFUL ATTACK...what are you talking about (unless thats the gravity attack your talking about which it may be)...spoilers below:

He did have ONE big attack (which IS a powerful attack) that killed my lightning in one hit if that stupid tail put the status ailments on her

You know the one where it does an animation & does around 5K - 6K damage.....seriously that IS a powerful attack lol

Then the cheap death thing.......that cheap move alone warrants a 0.1 point taken away from the games total score!!

The enemies in the final dungeon were pretty easy actually....you had to make effective use of sentinels & be prepared to spend ages in a battle..thats all

No darth, it really wasn't.

It was Gravity based, and, hence, it can't kill you (unless you're below something like 25% HP).

And the other move came up twice. And didn't kill anyone.

Besides, his HP depleted EXTRAORDINARILY quickly when staggered. Would have been killed faster if I didn't use Lightning (used her since she's the protagonist).

No it did 5K - 7K damage (oddly enough it did less to hope/vanille than lightning)

with Hope at like barely 6K it was FATAL.

It didn't kill me but once the boss quickly used another move before I could heal enough and I died.

I don't know who you were fighting!

I beat the boss first try. It was easy as shit.

My Lightning had around 6200 base HP (7000 augmented) and it was easy as crap. His Stagger guage went up hideously quick and his moves were the equivalent of tickling.

But hey, I guess I'm lucky.

Yes, you were. Most people spend ages trying to beat it (just look up online & on other forums), and the insta death move is a pain if you don't have the right accessories. Plus, that huge damage move is gravity based yes... but if you're poisoned when it happens then you're royally screwed as you don't have enough time to heal yourself before you die. And if you don't have a Sab in your party then it gets even harder!

Yup, especially if you focus on a stats build that can facilitate access to the best shields early in the game. I've seen people using 85% Guard Reduction shields halfway through the first playthrough, when a normal build only has access to it on NG+.

Demon's Souls is one of a kind game simply because you can pretty much pick whatever you want to be and focus your strategy on that. I started as a Thief who transmuted to a 2H massive sword wielding whom at the end of my Platinum playthrough was slinging spells like the best magicians out there xD

Alma's bitch ass in Ninja Gaiden. No boss will ever be as hard as she was. I'm a skilled gamer, too. Trust me, she's the hardest boss ever.

Alma isn't even the hardest boss in the game

Who is?

@lestatdark: Awesome! Many ways to play, then.

@Snesboy: Depends on the version. In Very Hard in the original, Spirit Doku kicks the shit out of here.

In Ninja Gaiden Black? ANY OF THESE THREE RIGHT HERE (not Marbus so much I guess):

Though really two or three Vigoorian Berserkers trump any boss fight in that whole game, on any difficulty.
