I already own a 42-inch tv but I find I'm not able to play my PS3 on it too often since my family is always using it to watch some tv. I was looking to get a monitor for myself and was wondering, is a 22 inch-26 inch monitor sufficient? I know the ideal size is a 32-inch LCD screen but those are so damn expensive. Most people use a 22 inch monitor for PC gaming and I was just wondering whether it would suffice for PS3 gaming. I will be connecting the PS3 through an HDMI cable and am also planning to play some games with my 360 once I get it back from my brother's house.

I play PC/PS3/360 on a 24 inch Samsung monitor (SyncMaster 2433BW) and it's awesome.

Well I've got a 42" HDTV above my head that's openly free for me to use (Since this is my room, lol), but I use a 22" 1080p monitor for PC Gaming, and I decided to hook the PS3 up to it one day, and it looked great to be honest, so I think if you're going to get one, then get one, it's a good idea.

How close will you be sitting next to it? That's important when determining the size you want.

I guess it all really depends on how close you are sitting to the screen.  A 22-25" screen works great for alot of PC players in large part thanks to sitting only a few feet away from the screen.  If you intend on playing your PS3 close, or in a dim-lit room, or in a generally small game room, then I would think that a 25" widescreen monitor would be just fine (esp since you could always take your console to the bigger tv for a better experience on games that you'd demand that with!).  If you are going to be sitting 6-8 feet away.. not so sure! 

I currently run dual 25" Hanns-G monitors for my PC.  They have HDMI input and are more than capable of producing deep and vibrant colors.  I found the monitors for only $160 each off of New Egg.  I have thought to myself more than once that I wouldn't mind another monitor this size for a 2nd xbox when the fam is using the 47" LCD in the living room... but then I just get stuck on the internet posting stuff in forums ha.. Either way.. I would think that the size is just fine, but then I grew up with only a 27" tv in my parent's living room, so a 25" seems pretty standard still -_-

i use a 24 inch full hd monitor. it's good enough for me, since i play in my room i sit close to it.

Awesome suggestions guys! I will be playing a few feet away from it so I think a 22-inch monitor should suffice; I'll get it ASAP!

It needs to be hdcp compabtible if you want it to work just beware of that
