I've tried to think of this from both a super hero point of view and as a gameplay mechanic. This is all I've been able to think of:

1. Shoot lasers(duh!)

2. Use eyes/hands as flashlight

3. Optical illusions

4. Makikng his opponent blind (by not lowing light get to him)

4. Invisibility (by letting all light pass thru u undistorted)

5. reading/sacnning CDs (normally lasers do that)

6. Reading/scanning holographic codes like the ones used in stores to mark goods

7. Blinding flash

I can't think of anymore. Shouldn't some1 dat can control light also be able to control infrared, Ultraviolet light & other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum? Your ideas please!

Why do you have to stop within the visible light section of the electromagnetic spectrum? If I could control light, then I would rarely use visible frequencies.

I would be shooting microwaves at my enemies to kill them (by cancer, I guess),
I would then cure good people of cancer by using gamma rays to give them chemotherapy,
I would see through things by firing X-rays at them (although in practice I doubt it works),
I would screw around with people TV signals by emitting random radio waves,
I would cook all my food by firing micro waves at it,
I would screw about with top secret government communications.

If you used gamma rays we would end up with a world full of Hulks!

I'd turn off the sun and demand £500,000,000,000,000 and 99p to turn it back on. Because I'm a bastard like that.

I would bend light as to make myself, or any object of my liking, invisible.

With an invisible gun, who needs lasers?

But, that's like 12 times the GDP of the world...

That'd be one Hell of a mortgage.

OK, I'll let them off of the 99p and forgo my Strawberry McShake.

Nothing compared to the US Gov't deficit after this health insurance bill. :P
