Lightning = Vivi > Any other FF character > cats > dogs > darth.

Well I'm glad you picked it of the four you've played.
It's really the best of that gen, and measures favorably against the best entries from any other point in the series.

The first 4 hours of FFXIII were very disappointing, worst beginning to an FF ever but not unbearable like you put it at all. Boy does it turn around.
And Leo-J was asking for this by options in that poll & the last paragraph in the OP.

My favorite FF, the most tragic one, the funniest one, the one with the best characters (Vivi, Steiner, Freya), the most coherent one (not a rushed product like VII and VIII), an amazing soundtrack.
Really a great game.
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

well said, i dont know how anyone can say this is the best final fantasy in the series.
on the other hand.
IX is probably at the top with VII and X.

Great game, but some terrible characters (Quina Quen *shudders*)
