Now for a more pressing matter:

How much would you want a release of Orge Battle 64 on digital?

Or how about some Suikoden 2?

Ogre Battle 64 released today... it's the reason I made the OP/poll.

Completely missed that. Just another bit of proof to show that I need to get more sleep -_-'.

But my question of Suikoden 2 still stands.

Now if you excuse me, I've got a decent reason to rebuy a Wii. Hopefully Tales of Graces will be the other.

No prob.  I think we'll see Suikoden II sooner or later for sure.

Here's the RPGs I'd still like to see make it to the US VC... anything with a * wasn't released here originally, but has a fully localized english version...

If they released the first two Mother games, I'd....

Well, being an ARPG whore, I had to go with Wii for all the VC goodness. Now if only SE would get on the ball and bring the Quintet Trilogy (Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma)...

I haven't really played much of the old ARPGs. Most old school games that I've played were either turn based RPGs or platformers.

What you say depends on when you grew up. People who started playing JRPGs on the NES and SNES will say Wii. But the people who started playing JRPGs on the PS1 will say PS3. With exceptions of course.

For me, I say Wii. Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, and Final Fantasy IV are some of my favorites in the genre.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

PS3/Wii. Wii has the Mario RPGs, FF, Phantasy Star, Breath of Fire, Ogre Battle, etc. (don't really count Zelda as an RPG) while PS3 has FF VII, FF VIII, IX in the future and hopefully they put Xenogears and Vagrant Story on NA PSN.

sony also have breath of fire from :p.

BOF3/4 aren't on PSN, even in Japan.

Although weirdly, BOF1 isn't on VC anywhere either. :/

they will be added  later according to capcom <.<

@at griffinA i start on the NES :p

my vote goes the ps1. it wasn't until the story and characters got likeable and epic CGIS that they got intereresting.

For which line up is the best, I think it really is based on what type of games you prefer. Pretty much the PSN seems to be set up focused on JRPGs like Final Fantasy and Suikoden/Wild Arms. However, the Virtual Console has a wide assortment of older RPGs from multiple systems many people many not have played, such as Secret of Mana, the Mario RPGs, the Phantasy Star Series and even semi-rare RPGs like Princess Tomato and the Salad Kingdom (which is mysteriously missing from your list).

In the end, I think its a pretty even match for both and just based on your opinion. The Wii wins by 'quantity' but some will like the type of games on the PSN more.  If they released the NES Dragon Warrior games and possibly Earthbound, the Virtual Console would be at the top without question.  Sadly, with the rate the Virtual Console has been going, that probably won't happen.

I think sadly the XBOX Live service comes out the weakest of the bunch, though it has the most unique RPGs of the bunch.

I do also notice a lot of non-RPGs on your list.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

The wii has the best console rpg lineup, though the psn network has the best games.
