Forums - Sony - I know why the ending of God of War 2 was so frustratingly awful!

The buttons appear in one corner of the screen. Press the buttons as they appear.

It's like Guitar Hero, but 1/5 as difficult.

The differences in Guitar Hero and the QTE's I'm talking about:

  • You see the buttons coming.
  • A button in one position always means the same thing.
  • You always have time to prepare.
  • Even if you don't have time to prepare, they're always the same button presses.

QTE's and Guitar Hero are very different things.

Wow you suck at QTEs. They weren't that hard at all. I liked the ending. It is not the developers fault you suck at their game. I mean come on. It was 4 button presses. And mash circle. Omg so hard!

DO you still hate the games? I shall have to read the thread to find out I guess.

That + your damaged thumb because of the start button = Sue Sony's controller

QTE's are not that hard at all...I had no problem hitting the buttons on screen in time for any God of War game. Its all about timing and reflexes. It honestly isn't that difficult.

This is the 6th or 7th time I've seen this. Yes, we get that QTE's aren't difficult FOR YOU. For some of us they don't click as well, I am a pretty damned good gamer, I've been doing it for 27 years and I challange anyone here to get 1,000,000 points on Kaboom! from the Atari 2600 and then talk to me about effing "reflexes". People have differing skills and abilities, and we tend to get better at things we LIKE doing, and do the bare minimum at things we don't like/annoy us. Go be a l33t gamer somewhere else and let us pathetic humans complain about things we don't like.

Sorry that you're getting the brunt of this iLLmatic, but I hate people thinking that because something is easy for them there must be something wrong with someone that it's not easy for.

I don't think anyone is an inferior gamer at all...and I don't think anything is wrong with someone for not being good at QTE's. Its just, at least complain about a problem that affects A LOT of people and not just a small few. And there are a lot of things I hate that I got better at, for example using my pinky when playing Guitar Hero/Rock Band, I absolutely hate using my pinky, but its the ONLY way to beat a lot of the extremely difficult songs in the game, and I got better at it.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

So I finished God of War 2 last night and boy was I pissed off when the credits finally rolled.

Hold on a second, before I go on, lets go back a bit and say oh yes, there will be spoilers.

So at the end of God of War when you're fighting Aries, at the end you have to do two QTE's that happen so fast you almost just have to press random buttons to get past it, or at least I did.  I just suck so much I couldn't legitimately do those so it took a while.  Luckily, there were only two and the checkpoint was in a good spot so I finally beat.

Fast forward to the end of God of War 2 against Zeus and they do the same damn thing, except this time it's 4 QTE's!  Since there were four, my pressing random buttons was just not going to work.

These damn QTE's happen so quickly that you just don't have time to react and press the button.  Can people even reliably do these?  Anyways, these aren't skill hard, they're just the game being bullshit hard and it's infuriating!  This had me more pissed off than the damn spike room puzzle from the first God of War.

Anyways, after 30 minutes of failing and even trying to switch the game to easy mode (which did nothing for that) I finally get the situation where it gives me four x's in a row!

Rejoice!

So I'm concentrating on the center of the screen waiting for another QTE and then the little mash circle prompt pops on the bottom right.  Before I have time to react since I'm staring to intently at the middle of the screen, I fail.  I have to start all over.

FUCK YOU

I almost break my damn controller out of frustration and just leave the game alone for about 20 minutes and watch some King of the Hill.  I come back and give it another go.  About 15-20 minutes later I finally get another situation where it gives me three square's and an X (the two easiest for me) so I make it through that and immediately start spamming O.

I finally make it through and I am absolutely livid.  I make it through the credits, get my damn trophy, and I seriously consider breaking the disc and don't only because it isn't my disc.

Hours later when I'm in bed I realize something-- I was as pissed as Kratos at end of God of War 2.

That was the genius of the developers.  They made the end so frustratingly shitty that they made you feel the anger Kratos felt.

So congratulations people who made that game whose name escapes me, you succeeded with your shitty QTE's that reinforce my hate for those.  I'm fucking pissed off just like Kratos.

I'm still trying to beat the second one. I'm at the part before you go underground to rescue the phoneix. I'm only playing it alittle at a time though.

Yeah, I ignore those people.  I may suck at QTE's and you think that could say something about my reaction times but play me in Tetris where I can whip most people but the incredibly crazy good Japanese people and tell me that again (mainly because I've never tried too hard to learn how to setup T-Spins on purpose).

I guarantee you that if you see me play Tetris you won't say I have bad reaction times.

And I shouldn't play Heavenly Sword but that's mainly because it's not a good game.

TO YOU of course.

In fact, isn't that a little contradictory? How do you know if it's not good if you haven't played it?

Did somebody say.....CONTRADICTION!!!

lolz :D im in a joking mood today.

I think what twesterm said about heavenly sword is funny, you know because its true :P j/k

Wow. You can't even do simple QTE's. Maybe you should give up gaming. It doesn't seem like you have the skilled "button-hitting" ability.

AHAHAHAH!!!!

I hate QTE , pure suckage for me but I don't remember gow2 being hard at all.. or at least , not like u describe it.
may be the ps3 controller lags?

Must you find some insignificant annoyance in everything Sony related and make a huge deal out of it?

That's all he knows how to do. He's really good at it too because he trolls just enough and to just the right degree that he never gets in trouble for it.
