Quick! Trash talk Move in case it's simply a better gaming peripheral than WM+. When we all know Natal isn't.

That would be suck, but anyway how about wait until they release the thing and show some solid facts before trash talking?
As for Sony, if they did get some time with the 3DV tech, it's likely true that they passed on the tech for some actual reason, wouldn't you say? No, from your demeanor you wouldn't say. B/c Sony has a similar control scheme to WM+ that might be more accurate and is certainly more robust (camera), Sony's whole series of choices here is wrong says Galaki.

Measure the action of magnetic fields?? It sounds like that was a typo for electromagnetic fields, which (considering that the PSeye cannot pick up radio, xray, gamma ray, microwave etc) means light. If you're going to try to sound technical, do it right |
They are talking about the controller sensors: the Sony Move wands have geomagnetic sensor chips, just like the ones used in many mobile phones and GPS navigators today. It gives an absolute bearing relative to magnetic north and a tilt angle, helping to re-calibrate the gyroscope rotation data.
If you want to be pedantic, do it right ;)
Edit: darn, RockMan beat me to it!

Christ, exactly what part of what Sony said was 'trash' talking? That they tried 3D camera tech, and found that though it was pretty cool it didn't enable developers to do anything significantly new compared to what the Eyetoy already allowed? Did he say anything about Natal flopping, or Natal being shit? Did he even mention the word 'Natal'. No, all they said was that in their experience with the tech it didn't enable anything significantly to what was already available.
Seriously, trolls like you make this site shit. I can tolerate guys that are like 'yeah, I'm a fanboy' and create a million threads about how good X platform/game is. Obviously they are super stoked about their console/game of choice, and I'm fine with that. But w*nkers like you that go out of your way to post nothing but purely inflammatory comments with no actual idea or thought in threads about something you clearly aren't interested in just irritate me, and many other people besides. F off, or come up with an actual relevant thought. Not just 'PS Move is Wii-too, Sony is arrogant'.
And come on, you've done over 5000 posts, you should flaming know better.

It is going to be very interesting to see what happens when we finally get to see Natal. So far we have Nintendo, Sony and 3rd parties saying that the tech is cool, but not good for games. Considering that they have stripped the camera down from what even Sony, and Nintendo were shown, the chances of anything amazing for Natal are looking slim.
With Move Sony has already proved that they can pull off nearly everything shown at Microsofts E3 press confernace last year. In addiation they have showed how much more they can do thanks to having the addition of trigger, buttons, and analog sticks. Best of all they can do it with only 1 - 2MB of RAM being used, and on one of the seven SPU's. On the other hand Natal is taking up 15% of the 360's processing power, and an unknown amount of RAM.
So basically at the moment, PS Move could be put into any titles ever released on PS3. Natal is going to require devs to cut back on graphics, and performance meaning Natal games will be less steller than the current 360 games. Even worse, Natal is going to either force devs to cut back on Move titles or Natal titles will not be up to par with there Move counterparts.

So wait...We can't have an open discussion about Natal because it hasn't released, but you can bash Sony before their tech releases? How does that make any sense? ANd how do you know Sony's Move won't be more accurate than the WM+ when it still has ~ 6 or 7 months before release. Also, you do know Nintendo passed on this tech too, right? So there must be something there, or maybe more accurately not there, for both major companies to say no. Granted MS may have been able to work it out, but I'm not holding my breathe.
As far as your Wii Sports/Resort comment goes, you do realise Sony had out mini-games collections like Sports and Play for the EyeToy, right? In fact, they were called the same thing, EyeToy Play and EyeToy Sports. So, did Nintendo copy them first, then? I'm going to guess you'll say no.

I'm glad somebody else knows what they are talking about..
It really pisses me off when people just flame other people and pretend to know about technology when they just mumble some buzz words like "electromagnetic"
Also, big diff between WM+ and Move is the fact that Move uses a camera and can produce an XYZ position (probably),
yea the wii mote can do it too, but only when its facing the infrared bar, if you move the controller in other orientations it loses its tracking.
Neither Sony nor Nintendo have the same level of investment and pure research that Microsoft has in this field. What they saw of the physical technology behind Natal isn't actually the Natal that Microsoft was developing. They bought 3DV for the technology, patents and some software but they added it to work which was already underway in their research and development labs. Microsofts technology here for 3D gesture recognition is ahead of anything in the academic or comercial fields. What Sony says about Natal is pretty irrelevant they would trash talk it still if it was about the best interface ever developed.
Tease.
