I reside in the port of Pokeren in Nintenidos.
Even during the Second Great War, Nintenidos was easily the largest naval power. At times, Pokeren alone kept the entire empire afloat. We could be relied on even when the capital, Marios, was having problems. This was because we and our other Nintenidos allies were alone in the giant sea of Porteblos, with but a few pirates who could not even weaken us.
However, a few weeks before the Third Great War was to begin, we saw an enormous armed ship coming from the south; it was a Sonarian fleet. We panicked. Most of our navy had been sent away to help rebuild the structures that had been destroyed on land. If Sonaria was to defeat us at sea, Nintenidos' end was nigh. At the last minute, helped arrived from the north. Two allied city-states, Nintendocus and Brenagi, had decided to join us in an effort to fight our opressor.
It was unclear at first, but soon, a victor began to emerge. Nintendocus and Brenagi had defeated Sonaria! To add insult to injury, our forces had returned, and gave their pathetic force a finishing blow. Just to make sure that they could not strike back, Marios sent a final fleet to destroy them.
The best news had yet to come. For the first time in three generations, we seemed to be winning on land as well. Sonaria and Microsofia were to busy destroying each other to realize that we had grown far beyond what they could ever dream to. Nintenidos went from being a force that was to be destroyed by a single Sonarian fleet, to the most prosperous civilization in all of history!
