Here I'll spell it out for you worst case scenario even.

PS3 uber game runs @ 720P

Xbox 360 runs said game @ 25% lower resolution which proportionally frees up 25% of the shader performance, which is ~70Gflops worth.

Xbox 360 can run said uber game, but just at a lower resolution.

Thus your 50Gflops deficit are accounted for and the Xbox 360 can run said game.

Dude, you just proved my point. I wasn't trying to say that the 360 can't play those games, but rather it can't play those games at the same level of scale. You would have to water down the super-uber game for it to work on the 360.

Nope. I said worst case scenario, the reality is infact somewhere between the two. Until multiplatform games show any advantage, let alone a decisive advantage for the PS3 in terms of frame-rates/visual effects the verdict remains that they are about the same computationally. Besides this every game is watered down to some extent, even exclusives relative to what my PC is capable of so im not sure why some marginal difference needs to be over-exagerated.

It's still a pretty good difference between the two. Anyway, I keep hearing the same argument over and over again from whatever website or forum I visit. That its the multiplats that make the difference. In my opinion, I don't really think that multiplatform games could really show the public a decisive difference/advantage for any console. I would have to compare the exclusives. That's just my opinion. I don't really think the PS3 can take whatever software you give to it and transform it to some uber game. That's just not possible without taking that software and optimizing it specifically for that console.

Please don't laugh, but for me the below blew me away.

UC2 (Need no explanation)
Flower (loved the controls and the feel of the game)
Demon's Souls (One of my favorite RPG's)

Why anyone would laugh? You named great games.

Can someone please explain to me what they found so impressive about Heavy Rain's visuals/graphics? Besides the facial animations/graphics, I found HR to be one of the worst games, graphically, that I have played for PS3 in a long time. Some of the animations were terrible as well. Especially the animations/physics for clothing, and also the kissing animations. Just so everyone knows, though I think HR had a fair share of problems (acting, glitches, etc.) I liked it a lot; and there were a few moments/scenes/action sequences in it that I consider THE most immersive, intense, and exhilarating I have ever experienced in a video game (and maybe even in a movie). Butttt...unless ppl are saying HR shows what the PS3 is capable of simply bc of the use of sixaxis controls, I don't understand why it's being mentioned in this thread. Again, I'm not bashing HR in any way, just don't think it had good graphics so want to know reasons behind other people's opinions.

Oh yeah, and OT: Uncharted 2 (INCREDIBLE!), Killzone 2, and GoWIII (I actually haven't played it yet so I guess it's not fair to say this, but I am anyways bc what I've seen of it has blown me away)

Pardon my reluctance, it was geared more towards my choice in Flower.  I absolutely loved that game, however, others may have chosen games such as KZ2 or GOW3 over it as my second choice.  Please disregard the first line.

flower is probably the most emotional game ive ever played it was beautiful and had so much underlying messages without uttering a single word , its a great game

as for pure powaa!!

dont forget heavy rain and mgs4

Visually speaking: Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, GoW3

GOW3, MGS4, GT5.

You said pick 3 but I would have also put KZ2, UC2, MLB the show, and HR.

PS3 got so many to choose from

1.- gow3
2.-mgs4
3.-uc2

I never trust the use of exclusives argument. In the PC realm you never benchmark a component using different games, you take a variety of games and average out the results and the part which is consistantly faster is faster.

Tease.
