as we all know, the 360 arcade has been ripping it in sales...alot of people even consider the price of the 360 to truly be 200$, even though the main sku is 300$, but either way, its a kickass deal...so would you like it if sony created a ps3 arcade with no HDD(optional HDD will always be there) and with an optional install for all games for 200$

the ps3 need a hdd to work

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

i don't want a PS3 arcade, thats a bait and switch since you are going to "Upgrade" it and it will cost the same price if not more.

Of your options, retarded. Then developers wouldn't be able to rely on every PS3 having a harddrive.

You need an HDD though. No HDD means you can't do FW updates, save games, BR data, play games that require the HDD [Uncharted 2 for example which SONY marketed as a huge title]. SONY would have to allow the PS3 to use removable storage meduims for some of these features and even then, it's too late because of non-optional installs.

It would be pretty useless and actually harmful in the long run.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. It's a good idea till the person gets it home and realizes that they need to install a game to the hard drive

Uncharted 2 doesn't need an install. Its actualy one of the few games you could actualy play.

I voted ratarded, since you wouldn't be able to play more than half the games.

Uncharted 2 streams a lot of data to the harddrive, so it still wouldn't be able to run.

I think they would be better off just dropping the price of the 120GB to $199, set a 250GB at $299 w/ PSMove, and release a 500GB with PSMove/Official Headset/card readers/6 USB ports at $399.
