After hearing about Sonic The Hedgehog 4 I was insainly hyped, I couldn't wait to see a return to the classic Sonic gameplay, however then Sega announced that the game will be released episodically for WiiWare. This is when my hype turned to anger I have never been one to want episodic content. I began thinking if Sega releases 4-5 episodes I will be paying more for Sonic The HedgeHog 4 then I do a regular priced game. I then also thought about my hard disk space I won't have the space to download the whole game.

Then the worry that if the first episode doesn't sell Sega might cut it short and not release the other episodes. This has happened with several other episodic games. Its like a TV show once the ratings are down they cancell the show. I don't want to be stuck having paid for episodes 1 and 2 just to find out episode three isn't coming.

So this got me thinking, Sega likes to rerelease everything they make once the series is done who's to say that Sega won't release the whole game in disk form? Now I'm hyped for the disk form and hope Sega will release it in a year or two. But as a matter of principle I will not be buying Sonic The HedgeHog 4 Episode 1.

What about you? Will you buy it episode by episode or just wait to see if Sega releases it on disk later on?

sure, and if I like it I'll but the next episodes, I just hope there isn't much date difference from episode to episode

Gonna wait and see if they release on disc later on.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Depends on the price and how many levels per episode.

4 worlds three acts in each world. So essentially its the Genesis game every episode!

You should congratulate me. I destroyed the vile red falcon and saved the universe. I consider myself a hero.

I'll wait for the disc release, otherwise i'll pass. 3D Sonic is what really lights my fire, and early 2D Sonic. This looks and feels like Sonic Advance, which was a solid game, but didn't particularly wow me.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Only if it's good.. cause you know.. sonic games..
