After hearing about Sonic The Hedgehog 4 I was insainly hyped, I couldn't wait to see a return to the classic Sonic gameplay, however then Sega announced that the game will be released episodically for WiiWare. This is when my hype turned to anger I have never been one to want episodic content. I began thinking if Sega releases 4-5 episodes I will be paying more for Sonic The HedgeHog 4 then I do a regular priced game. I then also thought about my hard disk space I won't have the space to download the whole game.

Then the worry that if the first episode doesn't sell Sega might cut it short and not release the other episodes. This has happened with several other episodic games. Its like a TV show once the ratings are down they cancell the show. I don't want to be stuck having paid for episodes 1 and 2 just to find out episode three isn't coming.

So this got me thinking, Sega likes to rerelease everything they make once the series is done who's to say that Sega won't release the whole game in disk form? Now I'm hyped for the disk form and hope Sega will release it in a year or two. But as a matter of principle I will not be buying Sonic The HedgeHog 4 Episode 1.

What about you? Will you buy it episode by episode or just wait to see if Sega releases it on disk later on?
