Do you think that move will be a success

Yes, it will be epic 38 31.67%

Yeah bu it won't be huge 39 32.50%

who knows 17 14.17%

It'll probably slowly die off 13 10.83%

It will fail trying to copy wii 10 8.33%

project Natal will dominate 3 2.50%

Total:120

What do you think.

I myself think it'll be a huge success. Look at the wii, why do you think it's selling so well. It's not quality games. It's the fact that once you get with other people, it's the funnest console ever. for example: you're hanging out with 3 friends, you have a Ps3, 360, and a Wii. Chances are you'll be playing the wii. It has the best offline multiplayer. Half of the time the games aren't that good but the're just fun. The wii alone is boring IMO. What if the wii had the same games with a regular non-motion controller. The games would not be as fun. I believe that the motion controller is the main reason why the wii is so successful. I think that MOVE + Ps3 will make a good mix of casual and hardcore gamers. Hopefully developers won't just make hardcore games for move, but instead make A LOT of easy and fun games for it. If they do, and the Ps3's offline multiplayer is fun and simple like the wii, then I see the PS3 going places.

I don't think it will be anywhere near the success of the Wii, but it can be a success, it just depends on the games.

The Move just isn't going to attract the casual crowd the Wii has. The PS3 doesn't have the name or reputation amongst parents for that so that's out. It can attract the core audience, but it really needs games that differentiate it from Wii games.

We know it can do HD Wii games which is cool, but they really need to show things that I can't already play on the Wii if they expect people to buy it.

Honestly, I think it will be heavily promoted but not fully utilized and slowly die off and see less and less support.

I think it largely depends on if there is a game that can really pull the people in and on how much Sony puts into the marketing.

Yeah, but I like to look on the bright side and hope that it ends up being recognized as a fun family, friendly console along with being hardcore.

If they release some killer apps for it related to games I wanna play, I may get it. As for Sony's thought that Wii owners will all of the sudden "graduate" to it, I don't see that happening. For Sony's existing fanbase it will be a success I think.

It very well could happen, it's just not likely.

PS3 is already the big boys console and Nintendo and Wii are already the names everyone knows.

A parent can either spend $250 on a console they have heard of, has Mario, and is the big thing (to them) or they can spend $400 on a console they may not have heard so much about and that they haven't seen those games that everyone at the office is talking about.

The Move is still able to capture the core audience, that grab is far from being over, but the PS3 is never going to overtake the Wii in the family fun area.  Nintendo has already dug themselves too far into that trench.

True, Nintendo is alot more popular, but we'll see how everything pans out

If it gets games with unique experiences (not Wii ports) and/or gets lots of support from the core crowd then it might become a success. Lots and lots and lots of marketing is crucial, of course.

Move won't be a success for the same reason Sony's other Wiimote copy, the Sixaxis, wasn't. And this is because Sony does not taking motion control seriously. They will only throw the Move out there like they did Sixaxis and with their simple gaming minds assume that, since the Wii has motion control and it is successful, that THEIR motion controls will be successful too.

What Sony doesn't seem to understand is that it's not the motion controls that sells systems, but the types of GAMES. Wii's biggest hits, NSMB Wii and Wii Fit don't even use motion sensing. It's a matter of making new types of games for an expanded audience, and making them more accessible. Sony doesn't seem to realize this. Throwing out a crappy version of Wii Sports and a boxing game is not going to be enough to reel in "the casuals."
