The Move just isn't going to attract the casual crowd the Wii has. The PS3 doesn't have the name or reputation amongst parents for that so that's out. It can attract the core audience, but it really needs games that differentiate it from Wii games.
We know it can do HD Wii games which is cool, but they really need to show things that I can't already play on the Wii if they expect people to buy it.
Honestly, I think it will be heavily promoted but not fully utilized and slowly die off and see less and less support. |
Yeah, but I like to look on the bright side and hope that it ends up being recognized as a fun family, friendly console along with being hardcore.

It very well could happen, it's just not likely.
PS3 is already the big boys console and Nintendo and Wii are already the names everyone knows.
A parent can either spend $250 on a console they have heard of, has Mario, and is the big thing (to them) or they can spend $400 on a console they may not have heard so much about and that they haven't seen those games that everyone at the office is talking about.
The Move is still able to capture the core audience, that grab is far from being over, but the PS3 is never going to overtake the Wii in the family fun area. Nintendo has already dug themselves too far into that trench.
