Okay what weapon should I use on Barioth,
Also, I can see how he could be easy once you memorize his attacks, but He made me exhaust my pots so I had to end via sidequest(Broke his wing)

I was using Azi Dykata. Is the switch axe good for him? I can imagine getting me arse whooped by him with it. The SnS was just taking too many hits.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Use the lance.

In all seriousness, any weapon should do it, including the sword and shield.  If his attacks are cracking through the shield's blocks, try using rolls instead.  He commits to his attacks fairly early, so you have leeway with your timing.  Additionally, he gets fatigued quicker than comparable bosses, so focus on dodging in the first five minutes or so, and use only hit-and-run tactics when attacking.  The sword's jump attack should do nicely for getting in and out quickly.  The exception is when he does his tail swipe: roll to the opposite edge, then nail his opposite flank with a quick combo.  You can also avoid the tail attack by being right next to his rear flank (around the rear leg), but it's tricky to find the right spot without practice, so don't count on it.

You can get even more aggressive when he starts panting after his attacks.  Just don't let him munch on Popos, or take a nap.  He also takes a while to recover after doing his breath attack: when you see it coming (he'll rear his head) roll towards him at a 45 degree angle, then use a quick combo on him.  If it looks like it'll take too long to do that though, just roll out of the way, because that attack is really annoying when it connects.  When he's really tired, he'll try, but fail, to do his breath attack (it comes out as just a puff of air).  He'll continue to try and use that attack though, so when you see it coming, charge in and let him have it.

He really only goes to the same four zones (6, 2, 3, and 4), so consider leaving some trap meat in one of those zones.  I'm not positive it will work, but give it a shot: it's five free paralysis/poisoning opportunities if it does!

Finally, focus on breaking either wing, then his tail.  Once a wing breaks off, he starts slipping on the ice after each rush attack, which gives you more time to attack him.  He'll continue to try and attack with his tail even after you cut it off, which also means lots of free shots.  A shock trap or two is perfect for the tail, while the pitfall trap gives you easy access to the wings.  Just remember to use it when he's tired, so that the trap lasts longer.

Is barioth hard, I was going to do him after ratholos, but I cant beat ratholos (he a fucking bitch, just flys the whole fucking time)

There is alot of crap I need his spikes and tail for right now. (Barioth)

Also, how do you get supersized dung? I have had that increase your farm field BS sitting there forever.

Herbivores breeding in forecast -> Kill large Aptonoth. I left that hanging for quite a while as well.

The description is actually on the item, if you hold down B on the wiimote and point at it. That's how I figured it out, I think

I figured out why Rol doesn't like the game: he doesn't know how to play it.

Strangely enough, after you had left the problems were gone too. With you I failed quest after quest, but afterwards it was smooth sailing. Your problem is that you always want to bite off more than you can chew. Fighting Jen Mohran with our current equipment is simply suicide.

Also, you are only mad because I ran off to complete a quest on my own, because you acted uncooperative.

I would be more cooperative if you didn't whine all the time, you big whiny pants.

RolStoppable said:
I didn't whine, I just hate to fail quests because certain people tend to overestimate their own skills and/or the competence of the current group they play in. Have you beaten Jen Mohran yet? I bet you've tried to again.

I have beaten almost every monster on my first try. So what, I don't like not doing a quest just because i might fail it. You'll have to try a quest to beat it eventually.

I get the feeling you're taking this game a tad too seriously.

The the regular Great Sword much better than the Switch Ax GS? ive tried both and i perfer the latter since its much faster and i love the elemental discharge move, but i wonder if the GS has any unseen advantages. I know you can charge it up, but if thats all then id rater stick with the SA.

Btw, can anyone point me in the right direction to kill the Royal Luthroth (sp?). Ive tried him online, but if it wasnt for my team mate i wouldnt have ever killed him. Need some pointers.

Switch Axe Sword mode has the best para once you max out the barroth one because it's a proc every hit instead of basing on %. The -Affinity is meh but it depends on what the other people are using.

Offline Barioth with Fire LS=5-10minutes kills, basically, the trick is to run towards him instead of running away at the right angles and you pretty much won't get hit by his charges ever. Basically, he's easy if you farm Los weapons in general.

So you are only acting like a jerk that wants to fight unbeatable monsters when I am online.

You learn something new everyday.

rol, you just cannon the shit out of that thing, eat food that boosts hp and defense, have a guy that knows when to use the tools on the ship, and know when to dodge the big rocks, and you'd be fine, that fight is generally done by using the ship. if you can survive on his back, you get to mine parts which is a bonus. that thing will get you pretty much the best gunner armor imo, amagi is really kick ass.

I had an interesting run in the game today.

1) Catching Quropecco was far easier than killing him, but it helped that i did the Quropecco run another 3 times online last night. Hardest part was him summoning, whatever the hell he summoned (giant winged thing that breathed fire and was waaaay out of my league atm). I think he was easier to catch than Jaggi, at least in terms of knowing *when* to catch him, as his limp is much more pronounced.

2) I am utterly and completely lost on the hunt herbivore eggs quest. I need someone to spoon-feed me exactly how to do it, because i must be doing everything i can wrong. Noname said the eggs were invisible, but if they are i still can't find them, unless they're just hidden at utterly random intervals. I checked near the tree, i checked near every tree. I have no idea at all what i'm doing there.

3) Giving up on that in frustration, i tried Royal Ludroth, who isn't all that hard to adapt to on Land, though i got my ass handed to me in the water. On Land the only real way to do it is to hit him head on, otherwise he'll just roll over you. Lance and my auto-guard skill made that doable, to just sort of tank my way through it. It seemed to me that his blind side underwater might be above his head, but i'll have to make sure.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

If you want to get the herbirvor egg.  Than you'll have to go to the ossias part of the desert and its by a tree. I think its
in the south part of the desert. You'll have to go by a tree and gather when you see a ?. If you still don't know what to do. Read
the quest description.

Also the royal ludroth is hard. He has a alot of health. So you'll have to have a strong weaon

Also I must ask are some items like monster bone + only online?
