Well, that was surprisingly easy. I'm not sure what i did wrong before. Hit it until it staggers, trap, bag.

Now i'm gearing up for Quropecco, but i'd guess i'm finally willing to try some online play. Not tonight, though (dinner with a club), but i would be up for doing something tomorrow... Quropecco on that end would be a good warmup, especially since it would be nice to acquire a bit of his armor to fight him with, since my armor has abysmal fire resistance for now.

Never heard of ian plate being hard to find, I have like 11 or 12 of them.

Los plates on the other hand.

Took me 2 days to get 1 rathian plate.
Managed to rack up a wooping 38 rathian.
11 killed
27 captured

Capture them! There is 1% chance more of getting a plate.
Also tail them, break their wings and head.

just keep leveling up online, i have 5 plates i don't even freakn' use in the box because they drop in the + ones more often, now those damn rubys..... those never drop, only have 1..... god dang it.... I'm so close to Wyvern Blade "Flare" but so far away =_= just that 1 fucking ruby....

I got like 2-3 from the reward box at the same time once from the advanced mission online, if you want easier loots, you gotta rank up online.
