I killed the Great Jaggi by doing what I had planned for the fight. Now the next quest is to catch a Great Jaggi. How's that supposed to work? I guess I have to set the trap before I've weakened it, otherwise the monster is running away and I have no chance to catch it.

I also tried out the online briefly and I am not impressed. I guess you can add me to the list (Rol, PL8BJJ, Europe), but whatever. This game is boring.

Catching a monster is actually easier than killing it! Just when it starts to limp (or limb, whatever) set a trap for it (provided by the quest box). After it's in, throw in Tranqualiser bombs to get it to sleep.

I just killed Lagiacrus. Boy, 45 minutes non-stop fighting with a great sword! Hardest fight so far, by far.

What do you mean, armor sets? Full Kurrupeko for instance? If so, it's much better to stick to full set armor as you get the specifc skills of each armor. Leather armor offers fast gathering if I'm not mistaken.

I know this sounds lame, but if anyone has a spare MH3 demo in the US, would it be too much trouble for you to mail it to me?

Is there any easier way to get Fertile Mud than those really rare shiny drops from Barroth? I've fought him like 20 times yesterday and only 3 pieces. The greaves are the only part of the Barroth I don't have. I'm thinking of giving up on the armor and just go for the Lagiacrus quest :-/

they are pretty easy to get online if you have a decent group that can destory every part on the body, I just use them for farming offline now since I have a lot ^^; they can appear in quest rewards quiet often if your group destroys him comlpetely.

ps: I did build mine offline since the servers weren't up yet, only I did it by breaking as much mud off his body as possible each time, also capped him a few times, checked every shinny, broke all the mud etc.

I am not sure why catching a monster would be easier than killing it, do monsters get attracted by traps? Anyway, after accidently killing the Great Jaggi, I caught it on the next attempt, perhaps with a little bit of luck.

it's faster and often yields more rewards and higher chance of getting rare drops on the harder monsters.

Once it is weakned it should start limping away, get in front of it or go to the next area it is limping to and set the trap then pelt it with tranq bombs. you have to weaken the monster first before getting it in the trap

Today I had some fun getting my Assault Axe, doing some Barroth, Gobul, and Rathian runs, and getting to HR13. Yes I'm slow, but I like progressing at a constant although slow pace. My goal is to get to HR30 by next weekend.
