I'm so hyped for this game, I think it shot up to my most anticipated game of this year.

I'm just hoping this game doesn't get impossible expectations from fans.
But since this is Bungie's last effort, I have faith in them.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
Thank you Bungie! Looks like you won't be able to "level down" anymore from losing, which is good because you can't always have a team of pros and even if you are really good yourself you can lose with bad teammates. This way your individual efforts are still rewarded and you don't get setback by losses. I wonder if there will be a prestige system like CoD, or just a really high level cap with a long time to progress between levels like Gears 2.
CAN'T WAIT!!! Halo: Reach is the reason why I bought another Xbox 360 and it looks like I won't be disappointed with that decision :).

Truskill is still being used to provide the matching of similar skilled players behind the scenes, however, the rank is not visible to the player. In Halo 3 the Truskill rank was the numerical rank that was visible. People, in Reach, can still quit or lose matches on purpose in order to get a lower Truskill ranking in order to play lower leveled people. They just would not have any indication of how their quitting and losing is effecting their Truskill.

Well I don't think the Halo 3 rank was entirely TrueSkill linked. Otherwise if I did good and my team still lost I wouldn't have been penalized as much. I'm just saying I'm glad they have a ranking system where my "visible" level won't drop if I have bad teammates or have an off game or something.

It was. Trueskill bases everything on the win, loss, and the Trueskill rank of everyone else in the game. It does not use individual performance to determine anything.
But yes, not having a visible level should curb some of the crap.

Well the TrueSkill level isn't visible in Reach, but it was my understanding that the Military Rank gained with credits is visible to everyone and that is what I was referring to as a visible level that can't drop because of a loss.
