Forums - General - Conservative Kristallnacht

Conservative groups, such as the Tea Party, post personal information about Democratic congressman and their families online and encourage conservatives to commit acts of violence against them.  Democrat's homes and offices have been vandalized and they and their families have recieved death threats.

Republican House minority leader, John Boehner, told Democrat Steve Driehaus he would be a dead man if he voted for healthcare reform.  Other Republican congressman have been proposing legislation, such as banning Viagra for sexual offenders, that even though most would agree with the amendments they would kill healthcare reform, and since Democrats wouldn't vote to kill healthcare reform the Republicans will use this in future elections to continue to fool people into following them.

Is this a dangerous time for freedom and democracy in America?  I hope not, but Conservatives are using the same targeting methods and intimidation tactics that Nazis used in pre-war Germany and neo-Nazis use today in America.  We must stop Conservative terrorism and deceit before it becomes even more of a threat to democracy.  We must demand that the Republican leadership denounce these acts of terror and move to prevent further acts of violence from their followers.

source? (someones bound to say this, so I may aswel get it out of the way for you)

Source?

A tea party participant published what he thought was Rep. Thomas Perriello’s home address and urged disgruntled voters to “drop by” for a “good face-to-face chat.”

"He may be a dead man. He can’t go home to the West Side of Cincinnati." says republican John Boehner.

This is terrible! Don't these racist reich-wing teabaggers know that politicians should be allowed to bankrupt the country with impunity?

...Was this any different than the death threats Bush & Co. got during his tenure as president?

I'm not trying to justify it. Any sort of threats made against someones' life is atrocious, but at the same time, I question if ManusJustus posted the same things 2 years ago calling for an end to 'Liberal Terrorism'

Oh, and welcome back from your ban.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Republicans can get a little too ferocious at times; but to be honest, I've heard stories of Democrats making equally disgusting threats.

I don't think these clowns are doing themselves any favours. They just end up looking like extremists, marginalizing themselves and their views, along with those of anybody they're associated with.
