i no its no out till friday but play.com post there games on a wednesday/thursday so there arrive on the release day. i was looking at play and noticed that mass effect was only 23rd best seller on all platforms chart and only no 5 on the 360 chart. i thought it would be no 1. even cod 4 out sold it and its in 3rd week so.

This is about as accurate as people that look at amazon.com to judge console wars. Mass Effect will sell like crazy. Its got great reviews, huge bioware fan base, marketing hype, and the genre matches the 360 installed base perfectly.

I used to think online retailers' rankings mattered. Then I got a clue.

iv seen no marketing for mass effect the only games that iv seen adverts for are pgr4 and halo so i think microsoft should start to adverties in the uk more

They began the market machine with their ad with kids running around the street making a make shift living room, then they showed 3 exclusive games, bioshock, Halo 3, and mass effect. The next ad was a teaser for Mass effect where they were all in a ship and the ship was about to crash into a planet. YOu can youtube these things if you missed them.

Feel free to discuss this but I have one request....nobody call the game a flop/failure until we actually have some friggin numbers from multiple major markets.

Oh also, Microsoft has a solid history of successfully selling their own first party games. I think PGR 4 is one of the few failures but I think its cause Forza came out only last June and now its packed in every new 360. Other than that, Everything from Perfect dark zero to halo 3 has gone platinum. Even Viva Pinata seems to have picked up a second set of legs and may go platinum before the year is up.

Well thats not really accurate . It wonr be AC or COD4 but it will probably sell well :)
