Play it and then judge it.

Yes the cuts hurt, just as much as the english VA hurts the avarage Japanese game when it isn't optional, but it's still a great game, probably one of the best on the PS3.

Well, that's not really an option for me without a PS3.  I'll just have to go on the insight of others.

Select the negative opinions ignoring the positive reception from gamers? Right now Yakuza 3 is getting among with Resonance of Fate is a lot of love and the few people that are playing seem to be enjoying it more than FFXIII or GoWIII. I think that says a lot.

Now that's hardly what I'm doing.  I'm just going off sources I trust, and honestly HG101's credentials are pretty impeccable, especially when it comes to issues on localization.

And from the sounds of it, Y3 would've been better off if Sega had just handed it over to someone else.

Why did Sega remove stuff from Y3 anyway?

On Active Time Babble, the scuttlebut was a super rushed localization to make the fiscal year, and that another company was originally bringing it over but Sega took over last second.  Sega claimed it was due to cultural differences, but they also claimed a far lower percentage cut (1%) than what we actually got.

That's...really dumb. Not sure why they wanted to make the fisical year when they didn't even promote it, so it's not like it mattered.

Well... it's Sega.  They did the same for Sands of Destruction, Infinite Space and Resonance of Fate too.

Geez, 400K for Yakuza 4. That's terrific! -> PS3 sales increase this week in Japan?

Wow, good sales for RGG4. Shame what Jarrod is saying about the rushed localization for 3, definitely sounds like it could be true (or at least I haven't heard a better explanation of why Sega would release the biggest part of its lineup at the exact same time FFXIII and GOW3 were releasing...)

Maybe they'll let somebody else take over the localization of 4? Atlus seems to be able to market PS3 niche games really well (they probably did a better job than Sony would have with Demon's Souls, lol.)

Makes up for the lack of PS3s in the Americas.

So, PS3 probably sold better than Wii this week on Japan.
