It would have better sales if it was an exclusive game? Lmao. Just face it Tekken is not any good anymore. Tekken 5, Tekken 5: BR and Tekken 6 were the same game Tekken 6 but with a slight paint job. Pay top dollar for the same friggin game three times: I do not think so.

I did not talk about sales .I talked about quality since they are a small team handling 2 versions instead of one hence lower quality.

If the series is going to be continue to be subpar does it matter?

i think on e of the reason it became subpar was that they focused on two platfoms instead of one .they are a small team handeling the game.so they have the resources to focuse on 2 and deliver same quality the game was delayed for more than a year to just port it to xbox 360.

so by focusing on one i think they can regain the quality

As I heard it the PS3 version was already done, and then they ported it to the 360(though I could be mistaken). In which case the PS3 version would still be as subpar as ever.

The arcade version ran on PS3 hardware. The port to 360 had nothing to do with the lack of quality. Tekken seemed to jump the shark with Jinpachi.

That's like saying Modern Warfare should have been a XBox exclusive.

Look at the sales on both platforms. Obviously sold better on the PS3, but not putting it on the 360 would lead to a great loss of sales.

Nah, not exactly. Tekken was usually a PlayStation exclusive, save for the GBA game. I think the OP is talking specifically on where the interest in the game seems to be heavily favored. Many PlayStation fans still play Modern Warfare and it was never Xbox exclusive to begin with.

So your saying it would have had better sales if it was a Playstation exclusive, because people no longer care for it as a multi platform game? Does not compute.

As an exclusive, it would have performed about on par with what it did multi, maybe a bit higher I don't know for sure, but no that's not what I'm saying at all. The OP is talking about the community and where the greater interest seems to be.

As others stated Tekken is not the dominate fighter it once was. Street Fighter looks to be the non-Smash Brothers game that can sell a lot in terms of fighters.

Anyways yeah It's obvious there are more fighting fans on the PS3. Generally fighting games sell better on the PS3 with the exception of Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur. But if you don't go multi platform your generally missing out on sales.

Edited: Because I can't read what others type lol

It's just that simple.

I dont play tekken , nor do I plan to but from what ive read tekken 6 fall of grace wasnt the graphics but the gameplay.......making the game multiplat would not have an effect on the gameplay.

And no one is shallow enough to consider a game sub-par for graphics alone.

i m not talking just about graphics (loading times, they did not obtimize the codes for the PS3 version,,,bad coding for the online ,,,,took them 3 months to fix it,,,,lack of online co-op which was added 3months after,,,many other things that could have been fixed with focusing on one version )

lol....wait, so you think the PS3 was the cause of a sub-720p Tekken?

Well from what I understand the Arcade version was as well, but Namco just went an extra-step with the 360 version and made it beyond 720p.

I wonder why they didn't with the PS3 version since it was the basis for the Arcade board Tekken 6 used it should have been even easier.

DSister I believe said the PS3 version was already finished and then they went to finishing the port of the 360 version.

It was the same game on both systems regardless of going multi-platform.

OO....then that is just poor management skills from the devs. But unfortunately this is a very common characteristic of alot of games this gen.....release a broken game at launch and fix it with patches the following months......if it was a ps3 exclusive it would have been released a year earlier and it still would have been affected by these problems......so if anything the time on the 360 version gave namco sometime to polish both games , no matter how small the polish is.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

Honestly no and I think it should turn into a multiplat game (even for PC and iPhone)

I'm still not getting why the hell there isn't a Tekken for the DS...

Too late... doesn't matter any more. Unless they try to reboot the series somehow.

The didn't optimize the game that already ran on PS3 hardware to begin with? The game was just subpar. Even though I tired of it quickly, SCIV was far better than Tekken 6. It was multiplatform, had better graphics than T6, and didn't have near as many issues as T6. What makes that fact even worse is that Tekken 6 had a longer development cycle.
