It has nothing to do with FF XIII at all. The only thing related is the different devs perspective of the crystal mythos.

It isn't a spin off. It has it's own unique story. Technically it is a standalone game. Now if another game is made in the universe of Versus that doesn't directly relate to Versus, then that is a spin off.

Exactly it is a stand alone game, it is however part of the Fabula Nova crystallis (kinda like a trilogy)

but calling it a spin off is ridiculous its like calling die hard 2 a spin off of die hard 1


So you're arguing that Versus XIII and Agito XIII are sequels of XIII? How can that be if they're completely unrelated? 

I'm pretty sure I never said they were completely unrelated, A spin off is usually a smaller Tv show that branches off from the bigger version, kind of like joey and friends, But i dont see how versus will be a smaller version of the 13, when it will sell the same if not more

Frasier was more critically successful and imo a much better show than its parent show (Cheers) ever was. A spinoff doesn't have to be smaller, nor does it automatically make it bad, which if people thought I was implying, they're mistaken.

First Week GT5 will sell 3 times (3-3.5M) more than GOW3 in its first week. are you insane!? ofc people will buy it after these "delays" (they never announced a release date for us...¬¬)

FFVSXIII will sell the exact same amount as GOW3

Killzone 3 had a 700k Opening, with this game being more casual oriented the game sales will be higher.

Resistance 3...yeah i agree..maybe if they do it right this time it'll have some good sales

i thought Socom 4 is coming out at the end of the year? isnt that a big exclusive?

Gran Turismo 4 didn't even sell 2.5 million in the first week.

It only sold 2.4. So 2.5 while totally possible seems high for "success or fail!"

This is the last post I'll make. If the crystal mythos exists in both, you can't say it has nothing to do with FF XIII. imo a spinoff doesn't always have to have the same characters, it just has to borrow something from the parent game or series, which if you're talking about the crystal mythos, then it at least fits my definition. Also, they wouldn't have put a XIII on the end of Agito or Versus if they didn't at least have some (doesn't have to be much) relation to each other.

I can argue that FFXIII is a spin-off of FFvXIII but it isn't since it got released first.

However, since I believe none are spinoffs, I would be lying.

 HD games are having much bigger opening weeks than previous Generation games. GT5 will be huge.

GOW3 on 33 million is selling more than GOW2 on 100 million.

GT5 is the first of the series on the current generation of hardware. GT1 outsold GT2 on the PS1, GT3 outsold GT4 on the PS2. GT5 should be compared to GT1 or GT3 (unfortunately we don't have the numbers for either). It'll sail past 2.5 million with ease. If prologue managed to do 4 million already (with digital sales), imagine if that game only managed to convince 50% of the buyers.. That's 2 million right there, + much larger number of people who didn't buy prologue and are waiting for the full game.

So 3 million is a more reasonable estimate. My personal guess is 3.5 million.
